Artist: Metallica Title: My Friend Of Misery Date: September 17, 2015 7:56 PM	@ Dude that's the spirit, now that I own a bass too I can say that whoever said that bass is just noise must be deaf, the instrument is more than capable to go from melodic verses to badass riffs in no time, and this song is a testament to that. @ Man than chanting with the crow is awesome, and I really want to make a harmony tab for the solo, but that would take time since tabs online are useless so I'd be doing it by ear + what I could catch from videos. I'll work on that between projects, but if anyone wants to help it could be done sooner too.

If that is so...I would be quite embarassed because the version I just downloaded and played has a really horrible bass tone. Not the tone that's used for the main riff, this one is ok; but the tone for the choruses and verses is just...awful, really. So I'm hoping v1.3 has this fixed and is available somewhere. Otherwise I would suggest to remove the chorus/verse tone and use the "riff" tone throughout the whole song. I made this before I got my bass so I couldn't personally test the tone, but now that I have one I can make a proper tone, thanks for reporting.

From what I remember all of ride the lightning was in 445 instead of 440. Edit: I played it in 440 and it sounds more correct than 445. Maybe the remaster fixed the pitch? You might want to check on it just to be sure, unless you already have. I kinda have, the remaster did not change the pitch of any song, it's more like the tone used make up for it, plus, I'm pretty sure the author of the tab I then edited worked with A440 in mind. And to be honest, I hate to retune a few cents to play a song (My guitar has a floyd so that kind of stuff is a pain) so I left it that way, it sounds really good anyway. Oh yeah i hated tuning my floyd. Now I have it blocked so i can tune up or down with no issues. I have considered blocking mine, but man I have such a blast going crazy with the floyd that for me it's worth the extra maintenance.

After the intro, I changed to the Disposable Heroes tone, and it sounded much better. The T-40 only had 20 frets. I have one. Seriously? My T-40 was a ton larger than my current bass, coulda swore it had at least a couple more frets. So.. this is probably a dumb question.. but.. how do you activate a bonus arrangement in a song? so I can check this out again :-) Select bass arrangement, then below the RS recommend items is an option called extra arrangements, or something like that, can't remember atm, it should list the regular and a bonus bass, select the bonus and hit play.

Then you should change two notes in that path: the first 2 flaggeolettes when the calm part starts are just wrong. Instead b- and e string on 12th fret please add A- and D-string 9th fret, then this path will be fine. I also played the bass path, this also seems very nice, except the tone at the same part, the calm where guitar comes in with the flaggeolettes. It sounds like a very cheap radio, really not good there. Up to this described points it's a well done custom. Thumbs up Thanks a lot for the feedback regarding the tab, I'll test it when I can buy a new pack of strings for my guitar. I already have a new bass tone for that part, plus the edit to the intro tab, so expect those. And lastly, the guitar tones sound fine on my setup, in fact, I really like them, but if you want I can also make a second version with lower guitar volumes, that way we all win, all I need is to get paid so I can buy the strings and test the song before releasing it, because I'm not going to upload some broken shit.

Now it makes sense, I was kinda struggling to figure out why you were asking about showlights all of a sudden :D. I do think however that it is possible to make those manually, after all some songs have some pretty well sync'd lights. @ Hi John, what I mean with the discussion above is this: In RS you can have two kind of harmonics, either you have a single note played as an harmonic, or you have a chord where all strings are played with harmonics. I cannot figure out how to make the game display a third kind, one that is a chord where some strings are played with harmonics and some not. And yeah you are right, I'm in the process of charting the solo by ear (That's what has been delaying the update), but it's kinda hard to hear what Frusciante plays even on the isolated track thanks to the tone, and I basically have no backup material since he played the backup chords during that part live, and all tabs I saw online were wrong. But don't worry, I'll get it done soon.
Artist: Red Hot Chili Peppers Title: Otherside Date: June 3, 2015 5:09 PM	Thanks. about harmonics : they would work if they were transposed on a string lower, on a 5th fret, as far as I know harmonics only sound clear mainly on the 5th, 7th and 12th. about showlights : I have no idea how to control/manage them, so if you would know a thread... The thing about the harmonics is not the harmonic itself, it's the open string that you need to play with the harmonic to get the sound right, a tab to show what I mean would be: --0---\|--0-------------0------0-----\|--0--\|--------12---12----12------\| --0---\|--0-----12---12------12---\|--12-\|---------------0-----0-------\| -------\|------------------------------\|-------\|------------------------------\| -------\|------------------------------\|-------\|------------------------------\| -------\|------------------------------\|-------\|------------------------------\| -------\|------------------------------\|-------\|------------------------------\| You only need to play harmonics on the 12th fret but also hit the open string, and I'm not sure RS supports that kind of chord (I don't recall an official dlc doing it and all my previous attempts to make it work only show up ingame as unplayable/wrong things). That's why I did not include the harmonics, note detection works fine when you play the harmonics even when the game doesn't tell you to. And about showlights, I don't know either, but some cdlc seem to have the background lights pretty well synchronized with the music, so I'm guessing it has to be editable. But as I said I never cared about it so I didn't investigate a lot.

Another obvious must to a multitrack is a non-DD arrangement, (DD as bonus), as no guitar fills the missing notes. Finally why not release a version with guitar tracks, as your ogg files seem of superior quality and the sort order in RS of the other version seems wrong, and some issues (unplayable harmonics on open string) have not been corrected OK, let me try to answer to all your questions/statements: 1- I'll try to release full band audio and NonDD versions tomorrow, thanks for the idea. 2 - I did remove the unplayable harmonics in the tab, RS doesn't seem to support the ones used in the song so I leave it to the player to play those, after all the game picks up the notes just as well. 3 - Thanks for the confirmation of the audio, you see, thee ogg files I used were of a really high quality, but had some weird issues (Left channel louder than right on some, volume variation on others, etc) so I had to do a bit of what you'd call "Studio magic" to make them useful, so it's good to know that they were good. 4 - I didn't include rhythm because as you said, a second guitar only comes in during the ending to fill in with some power chords (All online tabs for that tab are awfully wrong by the way) so I didn't think it was worth it. And finally 5 - I never bother with showlight arrangements (Usually I'm to focused in playing so I don't care at all about the background), whatever shows up ingame is just what the game felt like doing xD.

However, feel free to test both and choose which one you want to play. It sounds like I'm playing my bass with a handful of pudding. If you want/can, send me your version of the tone(s) if you are interested in helping. I'm always open to suggestions, specially dealing with bass tones since I don't own one to properly test them. You can leave it here in the comments or via PM. E: 3 runs on lead and one on rhtythm. Looks really good! Only real complaint is the 8-bit tone, but to be fair most of those parts are actually played on keyboard with a SID-chip. I got a playthrough video coming up soon (pretty botched solo and end lick, but still). Any chance you could do more MaSu? Like Nova Prospekt or Versus? I would be really thankful if you could share a playthrough, since my upload speed is so bad I just cannot hope to ever upload one myself xD. And I managed to create a better tone for the 8-Bit section, while it may not be perfect, I think it fulfills it's role quite good.

Artist: Orange Range Title: Asterisk (Bleach Op 1) (Tv Size) Date: January 12, 2015 4:26 PM	Hi, here's two recommendations you could follow: 1 - If you don't know where to start with the tones, you can load a tone that seems to fit, and from there tweak it a little so it gets close to what you want. That's the way I did when I was starting, and now that I know the tricks to it, I can make them from scratch. 2 - When charting octaves (The notes at 0:45 for example) It's better if you delete the muted D string from the chord, because it's obvious that you have to mute it to play it (Unless you always finger-pick those, then you have my respect xD) and it tends to mess with RS note recognition if you leave them there, so try to erase them from the GP file before importing. I'd like to play this, so I wish you luck.
