Version 2.0 with DD has been uploaded.  Its been close to two years since I updated this one.  Not a lot of changes to the chart as it is very solid.  Tones have been improved, and I've added arpeggio definitions to the track so you can more easily follow the chord changes in the picked out parts.

Date: April 13, 2016 8:37 PM
OK thanxs, i will give it a try on bass... i have just one question: It is not supposed this track should be charted on eB standard???... I published the Eb version using the actual audio a while back.  This is a transposition to E Standard using VST (Virtual Instruments/Midi) so people can learn it without having to retune, I guess.  Linky~ http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/far-beyond-the-sun-r5248

Wow this brings back memories.  Perhaps I'm mistaken, but the first two tracks appear to have been taken from the midi files I put up on geocities all the way back around 1998 when I was an Yngwie nut.  I still am, but not like I was back then.  I spent hundreds of hours in midi orchestrator pro, working with the sheet music on paper, and entering it into the PC.  Good times.  They had a link from the official fan club site to mine until geocities was taken down by Yahoo. http://www.oocities.org/sunsetstrip/venue/4221/yngwie.html

agh i hate to be a pain in the ass but detuning from E standard to C standard is pretty extreme   IMHO it is best to leave the tuning in E and transpose certain phrases up an octave I just got around to answering this. I'm a bit anal-retentive when it comes to the classics. Dropping down to a C1 is not the same as going up to a C2 for me.  The piece was transcribed for the bass, note for note from the sheet music.  It wasn't until after I had completed this custom that I found that someone had already done the piece, and they did exactly what you just asked for on the guitar part.  I tried it out, and every time the melody went the wrong direction, my OCD brain went, "NOOOOO!"

OK, maybe more like a week for the update. Added lyrics and fixed up the FHP on lead (across all of the solos) and on bass (especially on the tapping part). There's still some work to do on some of the rhythm parts, but I think this should be close to final for the lead.   Also, @Le French Stallion - I think I saw this on your favorites list, so I hope you enjoy the update! Awesome!  I've been working on learning this solo, slow and steady like.  Maybe in a year or two I'll be up to 100% speed.

oh yeah especially with the run towards the end that goes up to the high G on the 24th fret   lots of basses like Fender Precisions and Jazzes only have 20 frets Thank you for the feedback on this.  I hadn't considered this until you pointed it out.  My bass has 24 frets so originally I had tried to keep the piece in the pitch that the cello makes.  See the update notes above.

Great work on this one.  I haven't tried the lead track yet but the rhythm is solid.  There is a bit of the main riff noted in the game that doesn't exist in the song just before the lead-in for the first verse.  Delete those and I think the rhythm is done.   I'm not sure if it is just me, but the guitar tone seems to be a little hot.  Perhaps its just got a lot of mid-range so it just stands out more.  I ended up switching it out for the Cemetery Gates lead tone, and turned the song audio down to 45% to get a good meaty sound on this track.

Damn son.  That was kick ass!  That isn't the standard game tone is it?  When I play with my bass, it sounds nothing like that. Also it sounds like your action may be too low.  It rattles as you get closer to the nut... unless that's just distortion I'm hearing.

I just got home from work and am about to fire up EOF to see what the original chart looked like.  I did do almost the entire song by hand, but I found a tab of the guitar solo that I imported.  I doubt that'll impact the bass though.  I'll let you know if I find anything.   I may just try re-saving the original notes.eof and re-packaging it in the newer toolkit.  Now for the eternal question:  To add DD or to not add DD?

Thanks for the feedback, vortical.  Alas, I have had no luck in getting the RS Toolkit to toggle 'picked' on any custom I've done.  I toggle the checkbox but it always shows up as fingered in the game.  A long time ago I spent an afternoon trying to figure out why this problem occurred (updating java, reinstalling the toolkit, etc) but never did.

Satch uses a pickup he developed with DiMarzio that is Super-hot for pinch harmonics.  It is designed for them.  It is called a "Fred" because Satch is a smart-ass, and that's the name he that popped in his head when they told him he had to name it.  I've been thinking about buying one for my JS20s, which strangely came without the Fred.  :-\

In the play-through video at ~2:01 you'll see some insane slides going on.  He does this by touching the string with his pick and sliding it back and forth between the 14th and 15th fret.   The 14th fret bends that flip to 12th fret pull-offs are done by pulling up on the bar.

This is the third time I've been notified of a custom freezing after you get past tuning, and all of them are packages that have been working fine for several weeks or even months.  I am wondering if there may have been an update to RS2014 that causes this.  Those who have described this problem previously had advised me that the problem cleared by launching the game via the Steam 'play' button rather than their desktop shortcut.

I double checked the package.  It opens fine on all 3 charts.  Are you trying bass, lead or rhythm when that happens?   Hi Daikano yes I tested it trying rythm, bass and lead, When I start it stays there no more :(. I can upload a video if you want about of error. Regards    I had someone contact me with the exact same problem maybe a month ago for a different custom.  He later replied back stating that the problem cleared when he launched the game from Steam rather than his desktop shortcut.  I don't know if this will work for you too, but it is worth a try.

Title: The Enemy Inside
Date: June 8, 2014 12:19 AM
That's awesome but i'm afraid i can't do that by myself (i mean the tabs and all that stuff)I know how to do it.  I just haven't found a good (complete+accurate) tab. You don't have to do anything with the tab.  If you have a good 7 string tab that can be imported into EOF, then you should be able to go through the chart in EOF, CTRL clicking (or shift clicking) every single note that is on the E string, and hit CTRL+ five times to add five frets.  For chords you'd have to hit N to edit the note and manually add 5 to whatever was on the E string.  Then, move every note that is on the B string up to what is currently tuned as E. Delete the B string as before (as it should now have no notes).  Then, go into your tuning options and change the E string to -5 to make it tuned to B.  When it asks you about transposing notes, be sure to say 'No.'  This should do it.

I have been thinking about doing this custom since December or so.  The lack of 7 string support led me to research it a bit.  With a little bit of finesse, this could be made into a custom tuned 6 string song... tuned to B,A,D,G,B,E... a la:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewKxAwiHMqE

Looking at the playthrough it looks to be picked for the bass part, this is well out of my ability for now , as my pinky just gets in the way at the moment and holds the next finger backI don't know if it is supposed to be picked.  I just know that my finger picking ability is too poor to even attempt this.  I played through Satriani's Echo on bass with finger picking and had blisters after 2 play-throughs, so I have to use a pick until the blisters are gone.

I completely agree about the positioning.  I played around a lot with the bass tone, wondering why I couldn't get that twang or slap sound that Stu Hamm gets.  Then I started plucking up around the 19th fret on the D string and started hearing it.  My son watched me play the bass on this one and said it "looked boring."  I told him that not everything has to be complicated to be pleasing to the ear.  ;)

Try this package, Harvis:  http://www.mediafire.com/download/d223b7w18ibpv8fI found that the original midi map wasn't synced to 0 which might cause a problem for some, so I fixed that, and upped the scroll speed to 1.5 because there were a lot of notes on screen at once at 2.0.  If it still crashes, then I will generate a new ID for it.

Title: I Am A Viking

I can relate.  My JS20S has an edge 3 floating tremolo, and any alternate tuning is just out of the question.  I picked up a cheap-o $99 mini strat (new) for its fixed bridge, and use that for Eb, Drop D or D standard.  Up until I picked that up, I used the dive bar on the low E to fake out the game into thinking I was tuned properly, and tuned to the 4th fret above to get the rest.  It wasn't the most efficient means of learning a song, but it was a way to have fun and still learn.  When the game wanted a low E I'd just play the 6th fret of the A string.

It occurred to me last evening that my suggestion to drag the notes may have been an incorrect assessment of the issue.  If you had fixed the DD issue originally by inserting 3 seconds of silence, you probably forgot to recreate the .wem audio package in WWise with the newly inserted silence.  That would explain why the audio would be off.  I'm betting it all looked fine in EOF.

I saw that you mentioned the riff repeater issue.  I just tried out the lead for Modern Day Cowboy and Mr Scary as well.  When I played through it, the difficulty did start rising slowly, so the DD is registering sections correctly.  Maybe you just need to insert the 3 seconds of silence at the beginning of the track and add let the game register the start section marker.
