Title: Meet Me In The City
Date: May 5, 2014 2:58 PM
The problem is that there is actually a lead arrangement that I hope to get to soon.   I don't like the way they hide the bonus arrangements so that you don't know they're there unless you actually go looking for them.  On top of that, you can't play them in non-stop play.  The old organization with the combo arrangements was much better.

Title: Meet Me In The City

The bonus rhythm arrangement has no bass in it, just the melody.  I figured people could play that to get familiar with the song and then jump into the main rhythm arrangement if they want to. Everything I've read about learning fingerpicking has you start with the bass and gradually add the melody.  I could try do the dynamic difficulty manually and add in the bass later though, if that's what everyone wants.

Thanks! I enjoyed playing the workshop version, and am anxious to try the finished product. Also can't wait for more Chulahoma/Black Keys tracks. I realize they take time to make and don't mind being patient. :)  sleepy This version isn't actually much different.  I changed the tone a bit and added the lyrics (all 10 or so of them).  I hope to update this eventually to include a rhythm track that omits the overdubbed lead and keeps the main riff going through the extended solo.  I just wasn't sure how long that would take for me to do and didn't want to hold this back that long.  In other Black Keys news: I'm a good ways into Meet Me In The City so that may be next.

I'm getting ready to do a Black Keys Month, where I play only their songs, all night long. Thanks for your hard work on this. I'm trying to find tab for their earlier songs, back before he started overdubbing fifteen guitars for every song. Ha!  I can give you what looks like a pretty good tab for Busted if you want to try an open G song with some bottleneck slide in it.  If you learn it , then you also learn the tune to RL Burnside's Skinny Woman as a bonus.  Other than that, good luck!  I hope your googling skills are better than mine!

I played through the lead arrangement a few times and I only managed to get it up to about 45% mastery but it sounds accurate to me, it's fun to play and the song is really starting to grow on me.  Great success!

Great job on this. Just a comment on the bass tone. Wouldn't a low fidelity speaker and amp work better here? Just to get that low double bass sound from these '50's recordings.Just another question, what is that technique used on the bass.  I'm not familiar with what it is.  Can anyone chime in on this It may.  I'm definitely a novice at making tones.  I'll give it a try and if it sounds good, I'll probably use it on the Buddy Holly customs too since he also recorded with a double bass. The techniques you don't recognize are probably the slaps and pops.  The way I understand it, at least with a double bass, is that you pluck the string away from the fret board (pop) and then slap it against the fretboard to get a percussive mute sound.  I'm no bassist though, and certainly not a rockabilly bassist, so if something is wrong, let me know.
