i just finally got sick of not getting 100% on this, so i went to learn the stupid bass fill that blows me up all the time... the part where it's switching back and forth between the 1st,2nd,3rd strings.. and i noticed something that i've never noticed before.  I decided i was going to slow it all the way down to 1, and start from there, get 10 shots at it to get it down.  The open E string strums aren't even close to straight eighth note patterns.  Of course you can't tell at anything above about 60% speed, but .. just thought that was interesting.  and i still can't get that part.  not even after playing it 20 times, with 16 of them slowed down. :-S

This is amazing! Normally you couldn't pay me to tune down into this low, but I'll do it for this.

TOTES agree, holy crap I *love* every song on this album and always have since the first listen.  Super classic thrash from the *east coast* when all the other good thrash was coming out the West.   I love most Overkill (some songs have been pure misses for me, but most of it is in the solid "love" category), and can't wait to get my hands on this and more!

So... the bass line has 665 notes.  I wonder if we're missing one note somewhere. :-D   \m/

Title: Hardwired
Date: August 22, 2016 10:11 AM
daaaaaaaaaaamn so fast.  Must play now! :-D Thanks!!!!!   edit: Not sure what I was expecting. It's really a pretty simple song (bass wise), other than a little snag where it gets pretty fast/rough for a bit.  Seems like a much simplified version of That Was Just Your Life? i think..    Great job on the bass line, and it's a good one for basic speed and finger movement, which are definitely things I need to work harder on.  When the guitar playing child decides to wake up, he's going to learn this too :-)

Title: Alma Mater

Firstly, thank you!   This song was one of the first ones I learned to play with bass (great song, but easy and boring bass :) )   ..maybe the bass part is one string too high on this version? I have always played the main riff with open A, in this version it is open D - and so on..   I knew something sounded really off about it, but I couldn't place it.  Unfortunately, life has been stupid busy for me and I haven't even touched rocksmith in weeks now..  can't wait to try the update, though.  This is my absolute favorite of Moonspell's :-)

I'm pretty sure my first bass, a Peavey T-40 had 23-24 frets, but both mine and the kid's now are 21.   After the intro, I changed to the Disposable Heroes tone, and it sounded much better. The T-40 only had 20 frets. I have one.   Seriously? My T-40 was a ton larger than my current bass, coulda swore it had at least a couple more frets.   So.. this is probably a dumb question.. but.. how do you activate a bonus arrangement in a song?   so I can check this out again :-)

well, I'd never heard of these guys before, but saw the name "Crash Diet", which was a never released Guns n' Roses song, and so I started looking into them.. pretty good.  Definitely going to check out all their stuff now.  Thanks!

Personally, I use both strum fingers to play double stops, and on the rare triples, i use the first three fingers.     Some examination of "Cliff 'Em All" could perhaps provide some info.  I remember seeing him a lot of times just smashing downward with his palm, but I'm not certain if that was just super hard hitting E string or if he was hitting multiple strings with that.   I'm not sure if correct or not, but I like the previous versions use of double stops in the bass intro.. i think it sounds better having the open notes combined..  Of course, I prefer having the tab in game correct, moreso :-)   Also, I am approaching 100% on the first bass solo section .. which makes me feel super awesome considering a few months ago, my score on that was "WTF IS THIS CRAP" .. lol

Thanks, Nacho.  I've never really had a stomach for listening to this song, but now that I can play it through, I've been paying a lot of attention to it, and I feel I really underrated it.  (I still will hit skip on it though, if I'm listening to Magnetic straight through.. lol)

Title: Suicide & Redemption (Nacholede's Version)

Nacho,    I been ruining my arm muscles playing this on lead.  Weirdly, because I've never really done lead, I've managed to hit this up to almost 80% mastery, despite the fact that i can't hit more than 30% in any other song.  This song is fun as hell to play, I love it.  Thank you much!

oh, i've been playing a long time.. i just haven't been getting any better for a long time.. until i got rocksmith.. i'm still not that great though :-)     Well, I like to bring it up in the threads, because I'd like to get input from others, as well.  I just don't want to sound like a douche canoe "Hey this isn't right!!" when it turns out i'm just an idiot.. so i try to be nice, and i always mention that even if i'm just about positive something isn't right, i could still be wrong.

Title: To Live Is To Die
Date: May 20, 2015 3:16 AM
Hey there! A couple of things I would argue about (don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to have a version that doesn't have the wrong riff tracked in some spots!) .. I'm reasonably certain, on the bass part, that all the palm-muted A's should be E's instead .. and I think the notes on top string 8th fret should be second string 3rd fret.  I'm not sure if those notes are right, because I keep missing that slide, because I suck, and forget to move it to the other string in my head before the note has already passed. :-)     * standard disclaimer: i am probably not nearly as good a musician as any of you all are, i may have learned this song wrong to begin with, or my screwed up ears may be hearing things differently than everyone else does, so i could be just as wrong as i think i'm right when i pick out an error in a transcription

After playing this song on bass, Rocksmith breaks, and won't load any more bass tones for anything.  I suspect it's a bug in Rocksmith when there's no custom tone given.

ah, thanks. i'm going to have to pass on this one, sadly .. (but i see you just posted To Live Is To Die, so that makes up for my not wanting to tune to play this one :-) )  i need to have my bass visit Guitar Center for a good professional examination.

so.. since there's some confusion earlier in the thread.. what's the story on the bass part?  it's BEAD?  :( Ever since I tuned my low down to B to play some Type O Negative, the whole instrument hasn't sounded right.

Hi bokkiej! :-)  I can't speak for the guitar lines, but the bass line seems to be dead on.. although given the tone that is in the song, I had to literally drop my music volume to 5, bump my bass volume to 100 (i normally leave them at 50/50 so i can make adjustments per song), and then crank my PC volume to nearly maximum (i normally leave it around 10 out of 100) to be able to hear my bass over the music.  :-S

i don't play bass which I have stated many times  only chart bass as i was asked by numerous people ive used various tabs so in all fairness feel free to make your own version   How does everyone else feel about the bass part on this version?   If I had the time/talent to put together a CDLC, I'd only be able to put together a bass version, as that's all that I am capable of playing.  And if I did that, I probably wouldn't even try to include a guitar part, because I'd never be able to verify that it was right.

The bass line here is definitely not the right one for the recorded song, there may be a live version that sounds like this, but I don't know.  Maybe Donnington from Cliff 'Em All?   I'm finding that a lot of these re-made Metallica DLCs have incredibly far off bass tabs. :-(

i was referring to the video above.   OK, so, I just got around to giving this a play.. and it's freakin great.. except i'm curious.. on the snip of Blackened at the end... I think that might be the wrong song tabbed in the bass part or something.  Maybe I've just never seen any correct tab for it, but it doesn't seem like it's anything even close to the right thing.  Anyone else have input on that?
