Please please please do a  (or add) a lead.....awesome tune   There's no guitar in this song, all the samples are pretty much atonal noise, and I don't see any point in making a "guitar" track that doubles the vocal line, since the chorus is also atonal. But I'm working on "Uh, Zoom Zip", which has a bit of guitar in it! Hope to have that up soon.

Nice! Voivod rules!   Couple things that could be improved, though: first, the tone is a bit basic- could use a bit more distortion/gain. If you're not great with tones (I'm not) it's usually easiest to just find an existing tone from an official song/DLC that sounds close and import that into the toolkit. There's a link with most of the official tones in this thread: http://customsforge.com/topic/2027-tone-creation-process-for-rocksmith-2014/   Second, the beats don't seem to line up w/ the measures. It looks like it starts off on the 3rd beat of the measure, but then the tempo isn't quite on, so the note markers get more & more unaligned with the beat lines. You should try anchoring the beats throughout the song & then making sure the first note is at the start of a 4/4 measure. That way it's easier to tell where the notes are supposed to fall in relation to the beats. :)     Other than that, the notes look spot on!

a shame that brain scan is the only song that has been transposed from dimension hatross. anyone who has not heard this album from end to end are only doing an injustice to themselves. great choice thanks.   Agreed! Working on more DH songs. :D

Awesome song & great bass tone! But- some of the notes should be shifted down a string for more natural playability (many of the open strings would be easier to play as the 5th fret on the string below, & esp. the jump from D2 to G9, this should be A7 to G9). Also, the "speed" should probably be increased in the toolkit, as there's one part where the notes are so close together it's really hard to tell where they are.   Man, I need to make more Voivod songs, too. XD

Title: A Forest
Date: April 8, 2015 6:02 AM
Love this song, but I don't think the tab used was very good- I've seen some better ones that more closely approximate how it's played on the guitar part, namely playing the roots all on the low E string w/ an open A. The bass is a little better, but is missing some fills, and the long notes toward the end should all be on the E string w/ slides between them. You can see in the very brief cuts that are wide enough in the original music video (most of it's shots of a forest (go figure), or close ups on RS's face).   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xik-y0xlpZ0

I have a correction for the bass line:  8-8---8-8---8-8---8-8---11-11-11---8-8---8-8---8-8---8-8--11-10-11 should be: 8-8---8-8---8-8---8-8---11-11-11---8-8---8-8---8-8---8-8--10-10-10

Bass part is good, but would be easier for muting if the A octaves were 5-7- instead of -0-2.

Played the bass part last night- pretty good overall, just a few little fills/variations were missing, and I'd switch the open G (1st) string to 5th fret of D string where it occurs- bassists seem to like to avoid open strings wherever possible.

I think the solo should just be single notes throughout, not power chords- the distortion takes care of the "fatter" sound (it also seems to be much heavier on the low end, EQ/amp-wise).   Also, the rhythm mismatch doesn't bother me so much, as Rocksmith doesn't seem to notice/care if you're strumming the same chord to a slightly different rhythm than the one it's giving you, but some of the chords themselves aren't quite right, which does make a difference. You can see the basic hand positions in this video (which is played WAY faster than the album version!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5iHouB9ODk (Funnily enough, in the video, the solo is played on bass. XD)   I found 2 gp tabs on ultimate guitar- 1 looks sorta like the one you used, the other has slightly more accurate chords, but neither is completely accurate (esp. on the "title" 4 chords, which are mostly open strings instead of full-on barre chords)... Plus, in a bunch of strums, the high E/B strings aren't always played (indicated by parentheses below). Here's a more accurate list of the chords.   Verses: Em: 022000 G: 32000(3) B: -244(4)- B+: 76x0(0)-   (the B+ (B augmented) chord could just as easily be played -210(0)- but for some reason he plays it as above instead)   Chorus: Am: -02210 C: -355-- B: -2444- B: -2444-   "Three Imaginary Boys" G6: 35500- F#sus4addb9: 24400- F9add#11: 1330(0)- Eb+/Bb: -(1)10(0)-   (chord names are funny when you add a bunch of extra open strings XD)   Haven't tried bass yet, but I'm hoping that one'll be more accurate. :D

i did three imaginary boys, and am working on jumping someone elses train... if you'd like to convert / test on the mac, i'll be happy to release those too... i have no way to test on anything but PC so i havent bothered yet.   Totally! I think I have them downloaded & converted already, but haven't gotten around to testing them yet- if they work I'll let you know. Actually, I've wanted to do Another Journey By Train for a while, too, but haven't found any really great tabs, and haven't gotten around to just starting w/ one & fixing it up...

Would it be possible to get a 360 version ?   Sorry, I only have a Mac, and since I've already had packages that I've had to re-generate multiple times as the PC version crashes, I'd rather not have to deal with the other platforms that I can't test/support. You can always convert your own w/ RS Toolkit.

The sync is very good, but seemed very slightly fast in a few spots.  If I played by ear to where to me it sounded like I was perfectly in the groove, some notes that I was definitely hitting came back as "late" or "miss"es.  So, I sped up and played slightly fast of the beat and managed to get 100% accuracy.  But to me it sounded better playing a slight bit later than the chart in those few spots -- most notably the bits alternating between 6th and 8th fret on the A string.   I can't verify if this has been already fixed as I haven't played the bass part myself yet, but watching the video I think I see what your issue is- notably on the A string 6/8 parts you mentioned. You seem to be playing:   1 . + . 2 . + . 3 . + . 4 . + .  8       8   6   8       8   6   but it should be more syncopated, like:   1 . + . 2 . + . 3 . + . 4 . + .  8     8 8   6   8     8 8   6   I can't tell by the video if the tab used in the DLC has the first of each pair of 8s (on the '.' 16th notes) and skips the second, or if they start evenly on the beat (which would match what you played). Additionally, the notes on the E string should actually be an octave higher, since those sound higher than the 6/8-fret notes on the A string in the song (thus putting them at frets 8/10 on the D string). There also seem to be extra notes in the chorus that aren't played in the actual song, so it should go more like:   First 2 measures of chorus ("So slide over here & give me a moment") 1 . + . 2 . + . 3 . + . 4 . + . 1 . + . 2 . + . 3 . + . 4 . + .  ---------------------------------------------------------------- 10----------8---10---------------------------------------------- --------------------------------6-------5----------------------- ----------------------------------------------8-----------------   Remainder of chorus repeat these 2 ("your moves are so raw, I've got to let you know, I've got to let you know, you're one of my kind") 1 . + . 2 . + . 3 . + . 4 . + . 1 . + . 2 . + . 3 . + . 4 . + .  ---------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------6-------5----------------------- ----------------------------------------------8----------------- ^---no bass in these measures     I also noticed some minor differences in the muted notes in the guitar part- the notes seem to repeat this pattern on the G string throughout the whole song: 1 . + . 2 . + . 3 . + . 4 . + .  5-5-7---8---7---5-5-7---8---7---:||   The actual rhythm is slightly different on the last 2 beats, and there's an additional C (fret 5) at the end as a pickup: 1 . + . 2 . + . 3 . + . 4 . + .  5-5-7---8---7---5-5-7-8---7---5-:||   Also, there are a few measures near the end of the song (after the a capella 8va "I'm lonely", last RR section) that vary, like so: 1 . + . 2 . + . 3 . + . 4 . + .  5-5-7---8---7---5-5-5-7---5---5-:||   My suggestion to verify all the minor variations is to play each track in EOF at a slower speed (use ;' to change speed) and turn on claps (c) so you can hear if the notes are hitting at the right times. Hope this helps!
