Herbert Arthur Wiglev Clamor Grönemeyer (born April 12, 1956) is a German singer, musician, producer, composer, and actor, well known in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Grönemeyer portrayed war correspondent Lieutenant Werner in Wolfgang Petersen’s 1981 film "Das Boot" before shifting his primary focus to music. His fifth album, "4630 Bochum" (1984), and his eleventh album, "Mensch" (2002), are among the best-selling albums in Germany, ranking as the fifth- and second-best-selling records in the country.
