Patrick Wayne Swayze (born August 18, 1952, died September 14, 2009) was an American dancer, actor, singer, and songwriter. He became well known during the 80s after starring in the box office success 'Dirty Dancing' and singing in its related soundtrack, which was a #1 album that the RIAA certified as multi-platinum. He also acted in several other Hollywood films and had various TV-related roles until his death from pancreatic cancer, and he's cherished by his fans as an iconic celebrity of the 80s.
