The band was formed in December 2018 by vocalist Jake Adkins, guitarist Matt Browning, and later joined by Triston Blaize. Prior to the formation of Wake Up Hate, Matt Browning had been part of a group called Exotype, while Triston Blaize and Jake Adkins had previous musical experience together.
