Ah, yes. Opening this thread is a trip to the past. My rant preserved for posteriority. I think that was the only time I ever really complained about a custom instead of just accepting any shortcomings I found. I guess this just rubbed me the wrong way. Anyway, I just wanted to say (in case anyone cares) that RSBass and me eventually managed to solve our differences through PM and that there's no bad blood between us. |

I did run it through the toolkit to fix the 100% bug, but yeah, lead always crashes in the same spot for me. I just skipped past that section for now, but it's not a long-term solution really. Cheers, SB, that would be grand. Are there any more Rev songs in the pipeline? Well, I can try to create a new version with the latest toolkit and see if that'll work. I can't guarantee anything though. I'm not working on any new RB customs atm and I doubt I will do so in the foreseeable future but who knows. :) |

Every time I play this, it crashes to desktop after about 5 minutes. Does anyone else have this problem? I really don't want to delete this song. I guess you are using Rocksmith Remastered. If so, than this custom might need a new version. I'll do that and upload it as soon as possible. |

@ - I forgot to respond when I first saw it, but Pedro Zappa has done a transcription for Animal Spirits, so you shouldn't have to transcribe that one yourself. I'd be happy to work on making that a custom if you'd prefer to focus on transcribing the other songs. I guess, I'll just transcribe some of the others then. There's enough great songs on there and I still have some songs from previous albums that I want to work on. I'll also release some other great modern funk/soul/r&b stuff soon, so keep an eye out. :D |

The new album is pretty sweet in general and I plan on transcribing a few songs. @ Harry Belafonte's "Michael Row The Boat Ashore" has a nice challenging walking bass line. Not as difficult as this one but still interesting and fun. Yeah I like that one to play, also. It isn't as much of a jazz freakout track, though. I probably wouldn't listen to it outside of playing it. True enough. :D |

I think most of the song on bass should be played around the 7th fret and much lesser slides (except the shoots halfway) A well it's just a game, thanks for this bit strange version anyway. Obviously on guitar there are many ways to play the same thing and everyone has his/her preference but RS doesn't allow to change between different options, so I choose my personal preference and that's what people are stuck with. I transcribed what I hear and I hear the slides I've put in, so that's why they are there. Staying on the E string also gives a different sound to the line, which I prefer. |

Very sorry just thought I was giving ideas. Well, it looked a lot like requests to me. I just thought I'd spare you the trouble of posting anymore because I can guess what James has to say about that. I'd say, try the request section but I know that you'd have more luck trying to make customs yourself. That's actually how I got started. I wanted to play tracks I'm interested in and those weren't getting made, so I just started working on them myself. It's probably similar to how many others got into custom making. |

Title: If I Had A Hammer Date: June 4, 2016 1:49 PM |
@ Agreed. What I really like about PPM's arrangements is the seeming simplicity. Just two guitars, three perfectly harmonized voices and a lot of fully strummed open/barre chords or straight forward finger picking. It's nothing that beginner to intermediate players can't handle but to play it as masterfully as Peter and Paul is really challenging. There's also tracks that have insanely fast strumming like in "Flora" which is quite the challenge stamina wise but still isn't very complex and sounds fantastic. The interplay between the two guitars is sometimes really amazing as well, especially when both play slightly different rhythmic patterns that complement each other perfectly like in "Very Last Day" or "Man Come Into Egypt". Ah, I think it shows how much I like PPM. One class act and Peter Yarrow is probably one of the best singers and entertainers I know. Btw, I just figured out that Paul played his part with a capo on the 2nd fret, so I will make a second arrangement and add that as Rhythm and put the current one under lead. Peter played it as is so that each of them could use different chord voicings to complement each other. Very clever indeed. |

Title: The Kinnegad Slashers (for Irish Bouzouki) Date: June 1, 2016 2:52 AM |
Well, this is of no use to me, but I am glad you made it and hope someone finds it useful because it's pretty cool! Yeah, it's of very limited use to most people but I could include a Mandolin arrangement to extend its use if there's interest. I'm pretty sure more people have Mandolins than Bouzoukis. :D And don't worry, I'll include guitar and bass arrangements in future customs of traditional music and the bouzouki will just be an added bonus, so I can use it for RS as well. |

I like the bass. There's only one part when I feel it goes out of time, and it's not by very much. I need to play it again though, and if I manage to pin-point the section, I'll let you know. Thanks very much for it. :) Please do. I tested it of course but not as extensively as the guitars. It could be a bit out of sync at parts but I have an issue with EoF on this, where I can't move the anchor points without the whole thing going belly up, so I can only fix it by moving the notes. :( |

Well, my process always involves GP and Go PlayAlong but since you didn't use either here my advice on that won't be of much help. Also, there's already a good amount of tutorials available, so it would be unnecessary for me to reiterate all that has been said before. I suggest looking at GTLO's great beat syncing tutorial first and if you are interested in starting to work with Go PlayAlong, you can look at Brooklyn_Sounds tutorial for that. For creating multitrack customs Karmeleaux's got you covered with this. If you got any questions after looking at those you can always send me a PM. |

Title: Scenes from an Italian Restaurant Date: May 4, 2016 3:25 PM |
Looking at the video now, I can see that you did not beat sync this but instead just synced the notes. What exactly does your process look like? Do you transcribe it directly into EoF? Wouldn't it be easier to beat sync the whole thing before doing that? The tab seems perfect but the fact that only the notes are in sync kind of bothers me. I won't let it distract me from having fun with this but I suggest looking into the topic of beat syncing if you haven't done so yet. Maybe there's a reason you don't it, I just thought I'd mention it. :) |

@ Doing the guitar parts won't be that easy. The score only goes so far and a lot of the recorded parts are not in there, so there's need of someone who's willing to transcribe them, if you're willing to add them. Either way, it would be very cool if you actually manage to add vocals and split up the whole thing into single parts. Thanks for this great music; the parts I was able to play sound good. I would have preferred individual songs or perhaps 15 to 20 minute chunks rather than the whole musical in one file. Rocksmith's "Nonstop Play" feature could be used to string songs/chunks together. I thought about doing that but it's actually more work than doing the whole thing and I didn't want to release 44 individual tracks, tbh. If you just want to play individual songs than use RR to select the one you like. Every section is a song and the title of each is displayed in the lyrics. |

I also wanna bring some artist transcriptions for every standard, so you can see those standards in action. We'll see how that goes. |

More often than not, it's just a question of practicality. I prefer the tab to be easy to read and sustains can get in the way of that, especially with bass lines like this. If you sustain the note or not on the other hand is not that essential, imo; it sounds good either way and listening to the track you can easily figure out on your own if the note is sustained or not. Perfect accuracy is hard to combine with readability in RS and I think charters are wise to make some compromises in that regard. We shouldn't treat RS players like they are ignorant fools who can't figure out some basic things on their own. There's a lot of instances where a certain way to play a phrase comes naturally to the player without the necessity to actually display it in RS. It took me a while to realize that but I think it made my charts all the better for it. :D As you'd know also, when you chart in Guitar Pro like I did on this one, the sustains become very long and join up to the next note, even for crotchets. That's what happened this time around. I'm equally happy either way - to leave no sustains or put a sustain back on for a length of about 200-300. I'm well aware of that. Manual corrections in EoF are always necessary as much as I wish they wouldn't be. ;) |

hmmm weird. Three attempts and the new version still isn't appearing in my playlist in the game. Bit weird. Anyone else experience this? Just to be on the safe side, I made the new version 'version 2' and changed the DLC name. Version 2 works perfectly for me but I think I preferred it with the sustains. I mean that note IS longer than the others. Thanks very much for this. I cool idea moving forward would be to layer interesting scales over the changes to get a feel for the different ways to approach the song harmonically. That's a good point. Band In A Box can actually create scales over the changes (probably derived from chord scale theory), so that would be very easy to do. justinguitar recommends to start with arpeggios of the chords before moving on to scales, so as to get a feel for the stable notes one can use in the progression. If I wanna have all of that in one version, I need to mute the lead guitar during the solo section but I think that's an option worth exploring. What about that: The main track stays empty for an improvised solo and the bonus tracks have arpeggios and scales. |

Title: Invention 4 (in D Minor) Date: December 28, 2015 11:40 AM |
@ You are certainly right to compare these inventions to dedicated practice material for bass and guitar, the only relevant difference being the fact that Bach developed these for an instrument with a range of about five octaves (Harpsichord), while the guitar has only a range of about four and the bass about three, so that one runs into trouble trying to adapt these. Also, on a keyboard fretting and plucking a note happens at the same time which makes playing faster lines way easier than on a guitar or bass. There's also no need to jump or skip strings which someone writing for guitar or bass would consider, especially where ornamentation is involved. Although ornamentation is not mandatory for a proper execution of the piece, I still try to include it wherever I can, even when it makes things more difficult. You'll see what I mean in the next invention; not only is it in Eb (which is not an ideal key for a guitar in E Standard tuning) but it also has a lot of ornamentation. |

Update: v1.1 - Total overhaul of the backing track using Band in a Box created midi files put together in Logic X with Kontakt sample libraries and the Logic drummer feature; includes six different styles (three of the Jazz and three of the Rock category) of which the first three also feature solo piano parts; I also added two new tempo version (200 & 250 bpm) and extensive sectioning for the slowest and fastest tempo; the folder now also contains the original PDF of the exercise (which includes the underlying chord progression) and my GP version I think this should be the final version if no one has any further ideas on how to improve this. Alright so I gave this a go and it's good, but I have two requests. One, I think you should add as lyrics what the chords being played are (assuming they are chord tones, or mostly chord tones -- if it's entirely scales, that seems kinda not as useful maybe?). Secondly, at least for me, I definitely need some harmonic accompaniment. Right now, I'm playing this, and it's just a bunch of notes that mean nothing to me. I need some context (which also relates to the first point). Anyways, I still enjoy it, but those things would help me SUPER enjoy it. :) Yeah, that's what I thought as well. It definitely makes more sense to have a harmonic accompaniment to put the bass line in context. I just tried to keep it simple and see what people think before putting a lot of effort into something that's not of interest to anyone. I'll overhaul this and the second exercise soon by creating a simple guitar or piano part to go along with the bass line. I'll keep you posted. |

I've been on a huge XTC kick lately with all these uploads and I discovered this song which I now pray someone uploads for bass (at least): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fO73BX5tRUU When I heard the track again, I thought exactly the same, so I started working on it. Transcription and sync is done, so only EoF and testing left. Will release it tomorrow. :D |

I understood what you meant but I prefer to make a pitch shifted version, so others with more sensitive ears can enjoy that version as well (myself included :)). The extra string slack just means easier bends, especially with the one's in this song that are around the fifth and seventh fret. |

I really enjoy this song, but I confess I can't tell the difference in the tuning, and it's really annoying to keep having to re-tune. I can't even cue this up to play with others, like a bunch of Eb songs. I have tried to figure out how to set the tuning to normal, but with no luck. Can I either convince you to make a 440 version, or can someone easily explain how I can just correct my local copy? I tried looking around in the Toolkit (it already says 440?) and I looked in the XML file, but don't see anything obvious that looks like I can correct the tuning. Thanks for any help. I can try to make a pitch shifted version with corrected audio because I already did that for Lucille but the extra string slack you get from tuning down a bit will be lost then. Hopefully the bass won't be far off inthat version but I'll give it a try. Otherwise I can still do it the way you proposed. |

I always go for high dynamic bass lines if possible and you'll see that in my first release as well. That one uses four different riffs in four different positions; none of them are difficult but they are memorable and work well in the context of the song. The guitar part is very static and repetetive, so the bass is a counterpoint to that. Other songs will differ but I always try to get the most interesting result. ;) |

I can literally arrange that. :D I was definitely gonna do "Melody" but the full nine minute take from the anniversary edition without the fade out. There's also an instrumental version for "Cargo Culte" which will help with transcribing. |

There was a time where I wouldn't touch a song I didn't have proper guitar tabs for because I wanted to create a complete experience with my customs, now I just work with what I got and make sure the quality on that is solid. Making customs is time consuming work and I'd rather invest my time and energies into something that I can benefit from, because it's after all something for myself I just happen to share with others. That's why I don't cater to requests and just do my own thing. I like playing guitar, don't get me wrong, but I love playing bass, so I don't curb my enthusiasm anymore just because of some missing guitar tabs. |

I'm not sure if Jeffrey Hammond was a pick player but it doesn't sound to me like he was using one on this. You can hear his playing quite clearly in the intro. @Bavarezkrd: I didn't include "The Song That Goes Like This" because it doesn't have a lot of actual bass playing, what's there is really basic and it kind of would have killed the flow of the medley. I think the way I put it together turned out great and it's really fun to play, so I'm happy I decided not to include it, tbh. My idea for an Act II medley: Historian's Introduction To Act II Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life You Won't Succeed On Broadway Diva's Lament (Whatever Happened To My Part?) Especially making customs taught me a lot about playing the bass and how much I prefer it over the guitar (although I love playing my acoustic guitar as well and enjoy the occasional lead guitar riffing). ;) It's still a long way to go but I'm slowly getting better. I just need to practice more and work on theory a bit. Also, I might seem relaxed but I was on edge the whole time. The bass is just too loud. You can always use the mixer and turn down the instrument volume to an appropriate level. Just don't forget to set it back to 100% before playing another custom. :) |

Yeah, there's usually no bass track in the GP files which are copied from the Hal Leonard songbooks that are guitar only. I transcribe the bass myself when needed, so I don't mind that it's missing but if you can't do that it's kind of problematic. |

Nobody expects the Monty Python's custom! Thanks too much. P.S. Is it called "Fish Schlapping Dance" between Intro and He's not dead yet? I think it's a "Finland" with alternative lyrics mostly. I didn't see or hear this musical (but I must) and I don't know how it called, but it's more "Finland" than "Fish Schlapping Dance". You're not wrong because the actual track listing on the CD says "Finland/Fish Schlapping Dance" because the song contains elements from the original "Finland" song they did on the show but I just call it "Fish Schlapping Dance" because that's more memorable. Also, I'll definitely go see the musical if it ever comes to Vienna. |

can you make this louder because i can't hear the singing? Not sure what your mixer settings are but I can hear it just fine. Granted, the song is on the lower volume spectrum but you should still be able to hear it just fine if your song volume is 100%.everything in my mixer is at 100% all my other custom songs i can hear the singing good but this custom just the singing is very low Have you played the song more than once? Sometimes when I first start a song the song volume is lower than it should be and only after exiting it plays at full volume; sometimes it even needs a restart. Should the issue persist after you tried that, you can always load the custom into the toolkit and increase the song volume for yourself. Those are the kinds of issues that are better resolved on a personal level because they depend on personal preference as well as the setup of the sound system. It's also very simple and something that everyone should be able to do for himself. :) |

My version obviously wasn't supposed to be a complete package and I said as much. If I want I could fix up the whole thing in about an hour but I prefer working on my own customs instead of doing other peoples work. Regarding the sustains: Of course there are sustains but you play them anyway, so there's no need to display them in RS. Have you ever played official DLC with sustains between eights or even quarter notes? I don't think so because all it does is clutter up the note highway. I am aware that most CDLC users are already accustomed to all those short unnecessary sustains and I'm the first to admit that I did the same thing when I started making RS2014 customs but as time progressed I eventually realized that custom creators don't need to hold the players hand to an extent where they even show him things that he'll do more or less automatically because they are the logical consequence of what the chart tells him to do in the first place; in this case to play the note which obviously will have a short sustain so we can actually hear it. Also in most cases I would leave it to the player how long he wants to sustain the notes while still getting the full note value in RS scoring because he hit the correct note even if his sustain was shorter than the one the chart wanted him to play. On the other hand, if it were a staccato note the custom creator could use the accent feature to highlight this but even that is only necessary if the staccato technique was integral to the sound of the bass line, imo. Regarding the fretboard logic: It's true that the position change in my version requires more movement that might be a little challenging for total beginners but it also gives you more control because you're not playing open strings and I honestly think that bass lines like this need that kind of control to sound really good and not just decent. That of course is personal opinion but I think that at least the verse parts should not use the open strings and I'm almost a 100% certain that The Wailers bassist never played it like it is charted in RSBass's version. Anyway, I thank you, frippchen, for making the comparison and pretty much doing what I wanted RSBass to do from the beginning. At least you had the decency to take a look at what I proposed and acknowledge it before you rejected it. I also want to make it clear that I have nothing against RSBass personally but I definitely do not like his work ethic and the results it produces. I could say the same about many charters on here and it might not be fair that I single out RSBass as the subject of my more general critique but my bitter disapointment when I first started up this custom was enough reason for me to make a stand against work that is clearly not polished enough to be more than a WIP release. And yes, my standards are extremely high and some would even argue unrealistically high but I'm an optimist and I always hope for the best. I am aware that making a great custom takes a considerable amount of time and that not everyone has as much free time as they would actually need but maybe it would be wiser then to invest the time that's available to you in fewer customs, especially if others have already laid the ground work for you. In that case RSBass seems to be the perfect example of a custom creator that takes the work of other people (RB charts, GP tabs, etc.) who he thinks are far better at what he does and so leaves everything that would actually need work untouched out of a false sense of respect. I know that because I did the same thing in the very beginning of my charting "career" but eventually you will have to realize that those people can mistakes as well and that not every chart translates perfectly well to RS, so you will have to act accordingly and lay hand on it yourself. The worst that could happen, is that you have to start again and that's what's called learning from your mistakes. |

Title: Them Belly Full (But We Hungry) Date: February 9, 2015 10:34 AM |
You can trust who ever you want of course but I can tell you for certain that fretboard logic isn't a question of originality but of logic (and personal preference). Also, there's nothing difficult about that bass line, it's just the way it's tabbed that makes it unnecessarily difficult (and the only reason my version is easier is because the fretboard logic is different and gives you more control over the notes you play). But apart from that, even if you don't want to change anything, you should at least remove the sustains, so it's easier to see what one is actually supposed to play. I know you don't care much about fine tuning your customs and sadly there's a lot of other custom creators that have a similar mind set but how can someone who wants to learn, profit from a custom that was made in a rush, especially if all you have to do is to fine tune the imported RB tab, make tones and test it? I'm pretty sure if you would invest a little more time in making these customs you could actually produce one that is a lot closer to official DLC than the mass produced run of the mill CDLCs that some people put on here. |

Interesting that nobody mentions how badly this is made and I don't say that lightly. The sync is fine for the most part but the rhythm, the fretboard logic, the unnecessary sustains and some wrong notes make this almost unplayable (at least for me). I took it upon myself to quickly fix up the bass and I made a NDD, bass only version. If anyone's interested, then you can get it from here: http://bit.ly/marley_bellyfull I won't do anything more with it but this one works and looks like it should have in the first place. Thanks for this one, I miss Warren Zevon. Great song from a great album. I hope someone does the lead track someday.(Be really GREAT to have "Werewolves of London" as well, since the previous project, which was to be fixed, seems quite dead now.)I don't think there's a guitar in this one (at least I can't hear one except for single sustained notes during the chorus parts), although it's an exception for Warren Zevon songs. ;) I'll have a look at "Werewolfs Of London" and maybe I'll make my own version. Very nice to see some Gainsbourg stuff here. I'm a huge fan myself but must admit I had never heard of this one before.Yeah, his soundtrack stuff is not easy to come by. All I have is the compilation that contains some of the best tracks he wrote in the late 60's and most of it was from soundtracks with limited releases. Btw, I'll propably transcribe "Melody" (the full 9 min track that was on the special edition release, not the original 7 min track with fade out) and "En Melody" one of these days. |

played it through with 92%....... man this is a good track but takes it out of your fretting hand, unsure whether it was easier with a pick or finger. great fun and well made......... even if it does feel like my hands have done a marathon now lol. I would suggest playing with a pick. Herbie Flowers (legendary session bass player who's performing on this recording) does too. It's easier to play and sounds better (at least in "Horsell Common And The Heat Ray"). I actually checked the "picked" box in the toolkit but in the game it shows "fingered", so I'm not sure what's up with that. |

Thanks, guys. I just hope, I'll be able to transcribe at least the rest of the first part but I eventually want to transcribe the whole thing and release it as two 40+ min tracks. We'll see how that goes. DAMN MAN.... thanks for this epic undertaking.........I thought we would struggle to ever see anything of this on RS, even tried to get some tabs to do some of it for myself but struggled to even get that far. We need more of this type of stuff, tubular bells, phantom, and some more les mis.....as much as I enjoy rockin along to a load of metal, rock and pop I really enjoy the odd period of just chilling to some classical stuff. Oh fortuna would be great for that also. I still need to rerelease the Les Mis custom I made but I had some issues with the tones, so I set it aside ftm. I'll definitely work on some more musicals though, so stay tuned. ;) i can only aspire to play as well as you did in the play through. awesome work work and thanks for sharing it. Thanks, although that certainly wasn't a very clean playthrough. I just was very tired and had no intention of starting over on a 20+ min track. |

Title: Tommy, Can You Hear Me? Date: September 30, 2014 5:31 PM |
Thanks, Joe. I'm really happy with the acoustic tone as well. The trick seems to be using a slight chorus rack effect with 100% stereo image. That really boosts the sound in the right way. I'll have to try that with my other acoustic tones as well too since I've never done this before now. The authentic tones for Pinball Wizard gave me the idea btw but I used it mainly to imitate the stereo image of the acoustic guitar in the original recording. About a Tommy songbook: I think, I've seen something online somewhere but I haven't been able to get my hands on it. If I'm not mistaken, it's a full score for all instruments. Maybe it has something to do with the Tommy Musical. The scores for that should follow the album very closely, I guess, and should be of high quality as well since they need to be used in professional productions. Maybe there's a way to obtain them somhow. ;) |

Not that it's that important but more than half of the work went into the lyrics, so I'd like to get them as close as possible but since I'm not from New Orleans, are not really familiar with the Mardi Gras tradition and don't know the lingo, it's kind of impossible for me. :) |

By now, I'm charting all my customs manually in GP even if there are already "good" versions on UG. It has just become too messy for me starting to change things around in other peoples files, so I'd rather start from scratch. As I stated above, tabs are readily available and I know where to find them, though I will stick to the studio version even if I like the "Live at Leeds" version very much (just listened to the whole thing yesterday, btw  ). Also, I just finished tabbing "Tommy, Can You Hear Me?" and will probably release it tomorrow if I don't hit any bumps. |

Probably the most disturbing part of the Tommy story. For a musical album from 1969 there's actually quite a lot of strange and provocative things happening in the narrative part. That's the great thing about the album though. The music and lyrics work really well together to form a complete picture of all the events; even the ones we usually don't talk about much. |

I'll do more Tommy for sure. And don't worry about tabs. I have the four volume Hal Leonard "Definitive Collection" with all the Who tabs I could ever want to possibly use. They are not always that great, tbh, but checking them against the tabs on thewho.net usually gives a clear picture of the actual track. The next track will probably be "Tommy Can You Hear Me?" |

I think that back on the sixties and fifties the electronic tuners were more analogic, in the sense that you had to calibrate them against a standard from time to time, and those perfect standards were hard to get. Like pitchfork tuners, they detune overtime... if you use an old one as a standard, you won't get E standard 440. So, I think maybe he did use a tuner, but it wasn't calibrated to 440 proper. Another common thing with old recordings are pitch variation due to tape speed or similar on the recorder at the time or in the tape player or mixer converting it to digital form. Many remasters and remixes attempt to fix that kind of 'problem'. Good point. That seems like a reasonable explanation. Though the bass is certainly in tune, so it's only Lucille that's a little flat. ;) That makes pitch variation of the recording rather unlikely but who knows. The real issue is figuring out the correct pitch, so I'll have to play around with that a little more. |

Great to see some Ayreon. I always wanted to chart something from Human Equation but wasn't convinced by the tabs or had issues with his use of a six-string bass and/or seven-string guitar. Now that we have all these options for tuning to our hearts content and expanding the bass over the four string limit, it has become a lot easier, and seeing as you have experience enough with these kind of hurdles, I'm pretty sure this is some solid work. I'll certainly give it a try when I can. |

The fact, that I have to transcribe them myself only furthers my interest and teaches me even more about the songs and the people behind them. In case you want to do anymore, let's just talk beforehand, so we don't start working on the same thing. Thanks for the feedback, RdBass4. As you said, this is probably a difference in the instruments as well but the tone is really quite bright. It sounded good to me when I was stumbling along to the track but maybe upping the deeper frequency spectrum, like you're suggesting, is not a bad idea. Although I think her sound is very mid and high heavy and there's not so much bass in there as one would expect, but I'll give it a little more depth, which shouldn't hurt. If you find any issues with the arrangement or have suggestions for improving certain aspects of the chart, let me know. I appreciate those kinds of feedback, especially in the case of such a difficult track. |

Don't think that I haven't thought about that one, but all the tabs that I've looked at need some major work in that regard and also, the bass is very hard to hear, so transcribing it correctly will take some major effort and that's a little more than I want to take on right now. In short: If I find the time, yes, but until then, you'll have to make due with some of his other "compositions". ;) |

How about "Dirty Love?" I used to play that on bass and it's got a wicked guitar solo. Sure thing. It's on my short list. Now I just need to work out a good lead tone, which won't be easy, I am afraid. :) Bring on all of Joe's Garage, keep these zappa songs coming! I don't think so, because I don't even have tabs for most of it, let alone the time to do it all. Maybe someday. I'm sure you know, but there's also a lot of useful transcription bits and bobs on http://www.zappa-analysis.com/ Yeah, you're right. The reason for the DD bars not appearing is directly correlated to the amount of sections and phrases your custom has. I had the same issue with my 30 min Reverend Bizarre custom and to get it to work, I had to extremely reduce the amount of sections and phrases in EoF. The DDC also adds quite a few phrases if you use the default length and don't set up the phrases yourself beforehand. I'm not really sure of the limit, but I think between 50 to 70 sections and phrases (counted together) is about the max you can set up before it's not displayed anymore. ingame anymore. So if you want to include DD you will have to make the sections and phrases very long which maybe a problem later on if someone wants to practice a specific section and can only select a much bigger one. But I guess for those who want DD this won't be a major issue. Just make sure not to remove the NDD version. :D |

Thanks none the less. Hopefully, you'll do some more Genesis, I just wish you'd have done a different one. ;)Sorry about this one. It took me many days/hours to tweek the GP file. My Bad Aludog, your work seems to be perfect my friend, the blame is on me, I neglected to erase PC PLum's version of this song and it conflicted with yours thus causing the program to freeze. Did you move any of the beat markers? If not and you just placed the notes where ever they fit, then you pretty much messed the whole thing up. Syncing works via beat markers not via moving notes and it's by far easier that way; the different arrangements will be synced to each other as well then. Reading the tutorials and watching the videos on creating customs should help you out quite a bit. I advise to work through them if you haven't done so already and if you did and you still messed up, then you might have misunderstood something. |

Yeah, we do. She's in the "other" forum but she hasn't released anything new there either because RL keeps her busy. Btw, there'll be a new Regina song soon. It's something where Regina sings in Russian, because someone requested that back on Smithyanvil. the recording doesn't actually feature a bass but it was easy to transcribe and is quite fun to play. |

Glad to hear it. Let me know if everything works. I didn't do much testing and the guitar arrangements are untested, since I couldn't be bothered downtuning my guitar right now. ;) |

There's no guitar in there as far as I can tell. One could however make a rhythm part based on the piano chords but I don't plan on doing that, sry. If someone intends to do so, let me know and I'll put it in. |

Yes, bass bends in RS are hard to get right. You could try to play them higher up on the A-string instead of the D-string but it probably won't work there either, or just play a half note above the bended note. Also, I don't usually put in bass bends if I can avoid it but Jack Bruce uses them quite a lot because he played a Fender Bass VI that had thinner strings and was set up like a guitar. |

Thanks for the feedback Rufus, I'll correct that chord and probably add some accents because in this scenario it seems to be practical. Also, thanks GTLO. I'll be looking forward to the Rain Song. There will be something great from me as well in the next few days and you know what it is. ;) |

Well, I for one never complained about the 2% that's off in a very difficult guitar song like Strange Brew, because the other 98% was an awesome pleasure to play. Thankz!I can assure you, it was more than 2%, more like 15%, but I take the compliment. There's not too many to go around these days.Anyway, make sure to leave me some feedback, so I can iron out those remaining issues. |

Yes, I know, I am slow, so I don't mind. I just don't have enough time to do as much work on customs as before but you could have pm'd me and I would've tried to make it a preference. Maybe it's better this way because now you've learned to do your own customs and can help out making new stuff. ;) I still have one transcribed Regina Spektor song I need to work on and I should probably release the other one I made before on here as well. |

I guess, I don't need to convert my RS 2012 version now, do I? ;) Nevertheless, it wouldn't hurt to put a custom tone in. I'm still trying to find a decent tone for upright bass but when I have it, I'll send it your way. |

You're all welcome. Let me know if there's any issues. @engleg: The arrangement is quite challening now, including some rhythmic variations, new chord shapes and palm muted chords. I hope it's fun to play as well, but it's certainly more accurate than before. |

Title: The Count of Tuscany Date: March 6, 2014 3:32 AM |
@Aludog Regarding the bass, the tab i got has a bit too many notes on the low B string... If you really want this i could send you the eof file already synchronized, you just would have to rearrange it as you see fit. Just PM me.If you put it in B Standard tuning than at least those of us with a 5-string bass could play it, provided that there's not too many notes on the high G and C string. I wish, I had the time to do it myself, but I'm swamped with stuff as it is, so I propably won't be able to do it myself. Hopefully you can find the time and if not, then that's that I guess; at least until I can find the time to do it. |

I guess you didn't put in the bass because Myung is using a 6-string. I haven't looked at the tab but it could be possible to arrange it for 4-strings. I really hope you could do that, because I really would like to play this one. |

Wow, was not expecting that, where have you found the tab? congrats on your execution, and the tone is just right, today i wish i could play bassThanks, man. This is one of the two Magma songs you'll actually find tabs for when you start looking around the dark corners of the internet (the other being Maahnt, which I'll do eventually). The tab was handwritten but very cleanly and almost spot on. I just made a few corrections here and there to make it play better and sound more acurately. Thankfully this isn't Jannick Top playing, so it's even managable. ;) I may try to tab out a few other Magma songs, that have cool and not too difficult bass lines. I'm open for any suggestions, so bring it. |
