I admit I am different than most in that when I made the No More Lies CDLC almost 10 years ago, I preferred (and still do) being a specific guitarist when I play, either Dave, Adrian or Jannick. Since they each have solos in this song I chose to keep the solos on separate arrangements. Since you and Nacholede made this CDLC with solos in one arrangement, I am sure it will satisfy the opposing preference of users. Oh wow, I am known for long posts, now limit.... bummer ... Blaze is amazing! The whole Absolva band is fantastic. I am sad not to find an abundance of Blaze tabs to develop these customs to make this real because. Nice job reaching out to Karl Schram. Perhaps I should read out to Chris Appleton.... like I did with Blaze himself for Stare At The Sun. Congratulations on releasing this whole album. I can listen to Loneliness and Alexander The Great continuously and never get tired of them. But songs like 2 Minutes and Fear of the Dark have saturated me. Perhaps learning to play them well via Rocksmith will give them a 2nd life for me.

I hope in that context you come to realize how inappropriate your comment is. It is only normal for someone to craft a song THEY love and be thankful they had the courage to share. In fact, I can tell you that making my own CDLC has been some of the most rewarding and insightful experiences in my life. I hope you consider making the original version you desire. Trust me, you wonÔÇÖt regret it. Then good luck keeping your cool when someone makes a comment you donÔÇÖt like. :) .

I also prefer to replicate guitarist performances from each guitarist like you suggest. i.e. one arrgÔÇÖt for Dave, one for Adrian and one for Janick, but the vast majority of comments I have read prefer to keep solos exclusively in lead. Plus it is the way ODLC are made so charters try to emulate that guideline. In the end we charters offer our hard work for free and it is made per our personal preferences and hopefully others will like our preferences.

Date: December 17, 2018 12:31 PM 		After 4 years and 3000+ CDLC that takes 5 minutes to enumerate in-game, I now normally only download CDLC from charters I know, which is not ideal because I miss out on great new charters but it is my way of keeping my collection down to a reasonable size and avoid quality disappointments. However you charted a Maiden (my favourite) song and your tastes are very aligned with mine. I think Edguy and Stratovarius are criminally under-represented in Rocksmith so I am glad to open my mind a bit and consider your name a "must see" name. :)   thanks for this and have a blast roocking out to your creation!

I look forward to trying it out!   I have to admit, every time I see references to changing the A440 to something close, though I understand that need in theory, I would be hard-pressed to say a song needs to be adjusted or not to sound better. I'd probably make the noob mistake of trying to adjust tones, I dunno. I wonder if there is a source out there to help one learn to make such a distinction other than research an artist divulging what he used for the recording. I know there is a pitch adjustment setting in the toolkit, but when people say they pitch converted to A440, what exactly does this mean? I cannot imagine one adjusts the audio, but instead I would expect the RS software to 'hear' A440 from the guitar and instead output A442, for example.   Any way, glad you are a Maiden fan!

Date: February 21, 2017 11:05 AM 		In the Championship of  Week 174, it was commented that though the Bass arrangement with 3 occurences of a 6-fret-wide section is fine, that there are two alternative ways to play it for people not keen on the fingering or able to perform the 6 fret stretch at the 11th fret. So I provide here these two alternate versions in case you want to play it differently. Here are the details.   Blaze Bayley - Stare at the Sun (only that 6-fret wide section changed, 3 occurences) Alternate Bass version 1: Same frets and strings, new fingering: 1,2,3 and then 1,2,4 to use the pinky for the G15 and G16. Alternate Bass version 2: Shifted everything by 1 lower pitched string. So now instead of 11 to 16 fret it is 16-21; using same new Handshape as Alternate Bass version 1.   Though a cursory look seems to show no inadvertent errors introduced I will have a closer look tonight or tomorrow morning to make sure I didn't break anything while re-exporting new XMLs and packaging.   Cheers!     Edit: P.S. There was an errant E6 in the section of A2's in Alternate version 1. I fixed this,   I've played both the alternates on all arrangments and though I don't see any inadvertent errors, I will keep these as alternates since the main offering has been checked and rechecked for hours. Once I do the same very thorough checks for the alternates, I may make one of them the main (default) version in the DB.   Edit2: Here are animated gifs to make a more educated decision of which you prefer to download. Voilà. But I agree it is best for charters to pack using Cherub Rock for maximum appeal for those who don't understand well what they are doing. To quickly check that all the CDLC you downloaded has CherubRock as AppID, you can download the CustomsForgeSongManager awesome software, select Settings tab, put a check mark inside the "col AppId" box, lick Save Settings. Then go the the "Song Manager" tab and click "Scan/Rescan". Now inspect the column "col AppId" for all CDLC to make sure each custom has the desired AppId. Enjoy! I wish we had more Stratovarius on the site! :) Such an awesome band!

Having experienced countless hardships and challenges since his departure from Iron Maiden in 1999, even having to curtail a tour in South America due to having run out of money, taking a factory job to get back on his feet, Blaze never once wavered on releasing top quality music. Normally concerts are underwhelming for me with artists belting out song after song in sub-studio quality, but I recently had the distinct pleasure of seeing Blaze live and, to my utmost delight, he prefaces most of his songs with a rant (my favourite form of communication) that inspired the song's creation. For me this makes the concert uniquely special and this is one artist I am thrilled to support and celebrate in every way. Due to the above and due to Blaze's kind gesture of providing me the tabs I will assemble a video montage which I will send him. Xyber is preparing one of his famous in-game playthrough's for Lead so I welcome playthrough's for Rhythm and Bass. What I need from you is you filming yourself playing (camera filming you), which I'll intermittently overlay onto the in-game playthrough and then end the montage with with a mosaic of everyone playing for dramatic effect. We'd all be pleased to help you answer any questions.   The first and simplest addition is Riff Repeater. This allows one to enter Riff Repeater mode and select which section to practice. Without this, one must play the whole song and cannot focus on a section at a time. Beginner guitarists especially need Riff Repeater to enjoy your custom. It's easy, in EoF you select Beat Markers and hit Shift+S and select an appropriate section type. Logical transitions in the song are ideal candidates to start a new section. You'll greatly increase your custom's appeal with less than 30min of work. Since solos are tougher, it's good practice to break up solos into a few short sections.   Cheers. Was 16 when I caught this song on the No Prayer tour and a concert seemed like a cool little thing that cost $30 to barely see my heroes and hear them play the songs a little bit below the perfection of the studio album and Bruce being nice and speaking a broken French to the predominantly French audience instead of my coveted "SCREAM FOR ME MONTREAL". Then Heaven Can Wait came up, I had never understood the power of a concert until 20000 rabid fans joined together to sing the OH Oh OH part. It felt like we were all part of something grand, satanic, important and I felt like I was levitating buoyed by the collective and with goose bumps throughout. My trick to testing tab accuracy for No More Lies, especially the solo since it is too fast for me, was to Riff Repeat at 60%, then your years of experience listening to this song will tell you quite effectively if a note is wrong or right. Date: October 26, 2015 9:39 PM 		Again, many thanks Nacho, Funny thing about this album, I didn't like it until Book of Souls came out. :) Now that hype is no longer a factor after a long wait from 2006 to 2010, I listen to the songs and though they are less bombastic than previous efforts, the songs are nuanced and a well crafted with many special tidbits interspersed throughout the album. Today I listened to FF again for the 3rd time in a week and felt excitement at the prospect of playing it in Rocksmith, imagining the RS transcription while running at the treadmill at the gym. Fun mental exercise.

Then from that page you click the download page from where you find the download link. Sadly ignition points to the latter page so most people never even see the Thanks button. I wish that could be fixed. If it were fixed we'd see much more thanks and receive less e-mails from subscribed CDLC only to read about people saying thank-you. A nuisance to be sure but this web site gets so much right it's easy to forgive this.

For now maybe try lowering your guitar knobs to 7 or so, letting the amp raise the volume. I guess you can go lower as long as you get RS notes recognition. I would raise my PC windows volume to in order to let the splitter split he signal and let the PC and amp do the amplifying. I am not a signal processing master but it is a logic I would explore further if I were you so you experience the full glory of Amp+RS. Good luck.

Although I didn't try cranking up the volume to concert level :) , just the volume at which I usually play RS. I noticed Daikano plays like this and so I gave it a try and it was awesome. I even hooked up a Wah, distortion, overdrive and talkbox pedal and still the sound was enjoyable at typical home listening type of volume. My guitar knobs were at maximum when I tried and my Roland Cube 30x (30W) amp was at medium volume. My guitar gear in in storage while I am renovating so I am sorry that I cannot double check right now.

Date: August 20, 2015 11:16 AM 		Some advice to anyone with a real amp, if your amp has an output (or send port) you can plug your real tone cable into that and your guitar into the input then you'll get immensely better guitar sound! One downside is note detection isn't that great, and then if you start adding in effects and pedals it can be near impossible for Rocksmith to detect your playing. @Guitar RockHer, what i do to use a real amp (and effects pedals) and simultaneously play in Rocksmith is to buy a $5 1/4 inch stereo jack splitter Male to 2xFemale. Plug male end of splitter into the guitar. Rocksmith cable from one female end of splitter to your PC. Connect a regular 1/4" stereo cable on the other female end of the splitter to your pedals/amp. Turn down in-game volume to let amp dominate. Notes recognition and sound is 100% and thrilling! Enjoy!! You could even set up a mic and play Rocksmith with an acoustic guitar.

I ask in case like everyone of us at the beginning, we had to figure out how to allow our systems to play custom songs. 2) Can you try using the latest (or even just the latest stable) toolkit to convert the PC version (_p.psarc) into a PS3 version, assuming you responded yes to the first question? If you need an explanation how to do this, let me know and I'll explain. From my experience, the PS3 version sometimes generates errors when packing in the toolkit. You could always unpack and try repacking, as per chlipouni's DDC tutorial, or I can explain it to you if you ask. Fabianosan explained to me that I could get rid of my packing errors on PS3 by updating the Adobe Flash on the PC. Perhaps do the same before converting. When I packed this version with Toolkit 2.6.0.0 (latest stable version) I got no packing errors. As this song was used in the championship with both PC and Mac users I can confirm that those versions are working so you can can convert those using the toolkit. Please let us know if you got it working and how so I can follow your footsteps and post a functioning PS3 version. When you do get it to work the sorting in Learn a Song is as you'd expect: Artist - sorted under "I" for Iron Maiden Song - sorted under "N" for No More Lies I am surprised by your comment because the dozen or so others who downloaded the PS3 version never commented. So I am expecting that maybe you answered "no" to the first question and are figuring out how to get this to work. I don't have a hacked PS3 so I have no way to check the PS3 version myself, sorry. I've always felt like my favourite parties are the ones with AC/DC music playing loudly. They are the ultimate party music for me. I only go to dance clubs that have regular rotation of AC/DC music and then I clear dance floors with my turbulent dancing. The worst part of being 39 years old is that the younger club goers will soon think, who's that old dude - NOT cool. They already probably think this but alcohol is the great social lubricant. Plus it's always cool to me to see someone getting lost in the moment. All that to say, thanks for making my party live on!

Hi Spartacus,   Difficult for me to help you as I have never played CDLC on my Xbox 360, since I don't really care to JTAG it so I use it on PC. I know it works on PC because it was used in the Championship and it works for me. I recommend you try to use the toolkit Converter tab to convert the PC version to Xbox.   If that doesn't work try unpacking the CDLC and repacking it. I'm sure there is a tutorial on the site explaining how to do that. And if that doesn't work try unpacking and repacking with the latest nightly build of the toolkit since I used the version 2.6.0.0 stable version which has undergone lot's of updates since it came out in February 2014.   If that doesn't work, I'm afraid I have no more ideas you and that you have reached the limits of my understanding. Please PM me your findings so that I can be aware if you've found resolution so that I can help guide anyone else experiencing your problem in the future.   Update: I never tried re-packing but I tried to get you started by figuring out how to do it. I tried 2 ways, one which worked and one which failed and maybe someone knows better than me why one way failed and why the toolkit seems to have two ways to do it.   1st Method which failed: In the toolkit (I used the last stable version 2.6.0.0) I went into the Packer/Unpacker tab. Hit Unpack. Selected the psarc. Selected a folder in which to unpack. Then I checked the Update SNG tick box, hit the Pack button, selected the samer folder chosen to unpack. Copied resulting psarc in the /dlc folder , making sure the old version is deleted to ensure not having two copies of the song which have been known to interfere with one another. --> This failed in that I did generate a psarc but once I loaded up the game, the CDLC was no where to be found.... Go figure. Anyone know why this doesn work?   2nd Method which worked: In the toolkit (I used the last stable version 2.6.0.0) I went into the Creator tab, clicked the Import Package button  at the bottom. I selected the psarc and it loaded up all the fields in this toolkit  tab. Then I removed some arrangements to make sure my changes figure into the game. But you don't remove anything. Instead after Importing, you simply hit Generate, choose a location to save. It creates the psarc. You can use the toolkit Converter tab to convert to a different platform such as Xbox if you didn't have it ticked Xbox360 in the Creator tab. Then copy the repacked psarc into the /dlc folder on PC or whatever the standard location on your platform of choice.     I don't know why, all the other songs work well, but only this one does not .. my game is patched I use Rocksmith2014 patcher. here is the screenshoot of the error:.http://scr.hu/1zlm/lmg0v       @, I didn't know this procedure when you first experienced trouble loading up the song. So you should follow the above 2nd Method to unpack/repack the CDLC, and perhaps do so with the latest nightly build of the toolkit (currently 2.6.1.0) since I used the latest stable version 2.6.0.0 to pack this CDLC. You are the only one among hundreds unable to play this custom so it is the only thing I can think of suggesting to you. Otherwise I am stumped. Let me know what fixed your problem please. I'm learning to. :)   Please, Put all the solos in the Lead arragement.   Thanks Hi alvarero.   Please refer to my earlier post in this thread as to my reasoning for making my custom as such. It is simply my preference to play a song how it is really played live than to learn a ficticious version never really played. I wish to emulate my heroes and not categorize myself as a lead or rhythm guitarist like the game tries to impose, but be more polyvalent like Dave, Adrian and Jannick who are both types of guitarists.   That said, I have decided a while back with PC Plum's gentlemanly persuasiveness that though I will keep this CDLC structure as such, I will eventually offer everyone an alternate link to pure lead with all 3 solos  in it, and rhythm arrangements with only rhythm.   The only thing is that it's so frustrating to have so little free time that I cannot promise I will be able to do this as soon as you may hope. I always used Iron Maiden's Aces High Official DLC AppId to pack the CDLC in testing until the very end when I figured I might as well buy Cherub Rock to comply with the norm. First attempt to pack the song with Cherub Rock yielded an error message, possibly even your error message, so I moved on with my testing and a few weeks later I tried again and it worked. I presume you don't have Cherub Rock and want to play CDLC with an official song you do own, so assuming you are a true Maiden fan :), you must have purchased The Maiden 6-pack Official DLC (ODLC). What I can do is post a link to this No More Lies CDLC packed with the Aces High APPID. If you don't have the Maiden pack please PM me your list of purchased ODLC and I'll see if we have any ODLC in common. If this doesn't work I can try packing with the very latest toolkit (I always pack with the latest stable version instead of the nightly updated version, so I used Toolkit 2.6.0.0). Now if that doesn't work we'll have to ask help from the toolkit developers. I guess PM me we can address this together, find resolution and post our results in a follow-up post.

The song works for me and just last week I had a competition with about 20 other friends who downloaded this CDLC and reported no problems.   Is that other DLC you got working a Custom DLC or an Official DLC? If Official, then I am thinking you might be the victim of the same affliction everyone goes through at the beginning who hasn't realized yet that to play customs you need to patch your game. See here for details.   IF Custom then please post screenshots of you obtaining these error messages. Can you also please explain why you are patching the song and what you mean by patching? Does it mean you are trying to switch the AppId from CherubRock to something else? What version of the Customs Toolkit are you using?   I hope you are up and running soon.

Great song, but all CDLCs are bad - or there's no clean tones, or arrangement is messed up... @EDIT: Just played it. IMO there could be no solo in rhythm part. Maybe add it as a bonus arrangement to Lead?My next CDLC will be Alexander the Great from the Somewhere in Time album but I really love the Dance of Death album and may return to it soon rather than later. Unless I make a Rocky 4 song first, Hearts on Fire.As for putting solos in the rhythm section, I made a conscious decision that my favorite thing to do is feel like a rock star when I play. I want to be Dave Murray. I want to be Adrian Smith . And I finally can say that I want to be Jannick Gers also. Therefore as per my tab I decided that the best way to feel like Dave or Adrian or Jannick is to make a song that exactly replicates how they play this song. Each of them play some rhythm parts and lead parts and for me that is the beauty of Iron Maiden and the guitar harmonies. Plus if Dave couldn't play lead, imagine Iron Maiden giving up when Adrian left in 1990... scary thought...Given that RS forces us to declare an arrangement as rhythm or lead (the toolkit allows to choose combo but from what I could tell it does nothing in game, which I'd at least expect it to make an arrangement playable in both career paths...) I simply made a judgement call on whom I call lead and whom I call rhythm even though this song is perfectly symmetric in that each guitarist does equal share rhythm and lead. Plus the bonus arrangement is already taken due to Iron Maiden having 3 guitarists so I cannot add a new arrangement. What I can do if there is demand for it is create an alternate version of this CDLC cutting and pasting all solos in Jannick's lead arrangement. This could be a new link in the Original Post. Date: June 1, 2014 4:06 PM 		Havent't put rr in as not sure how to do it but i will look into it Hi slayerad2000, once again thanks, I had a few minutes to try this and I had lots of fun! Thanks so much! Actually enabling a song for Riff Repeater is super simple and quick. You simply go in EoF and select a beat marker where you think a logical song transition happens and you press SHIFT+S and this brings up a menu asking you what you for a generic way of naming this section. Ex: Intro, Verse, Solo,  Interlude, Outro etc. If you have more than one section called "verse", say, then you simply name it verse and EoF will give it a new sequential number. I say sequential but if it jumps a number or two I think it is because the same section in another arrangement was given the next number. No big deal.  I recommend breaking down the song into enough sections that someone can just select that section in RR to master it. Given Maiden songs are long, I would expect a dozen or so sections, perhaps breaking up the difficult solos into a few sections of 2 measures each since they are difficult. Maiden songs often go roughly as follows:Intro-Verse-Verse-....-Verse-Chorus-Verse-...-Chorus-Interlude-Solo-Solo-Solo-Verse-Chorus-Outro Furthermore, if ever you opt to provide DynDiff then you add PHRASES in the similar way as you do with Sections. Phrases break down sections into subsections that the game allows you to evolve in difficulty as well as the neat feature to level up all similar phrases (if you named them identically). Not everyone is a fan of DD so I'd say adding sections only would make everyone happy. Adding phrases would make new players happy generally. I know I like to make all parts at hardest difficult but difficult solos at about 30% difficulty... but any way.... One thing about sections and phrases, EoF tends to kick back the following error if you don't have any phrases in a section, "At least one Rocksmith section doesn't have a Rocksmith phrase at the same position. This can cause the chart's sections to work incorrectly. Would you like to place Rocksmith phrases to correct this? Yes? No?" So if you want to avoid this, might as well tick the check box when adding sections that says:  "Also add as RS phrase", so now you have 1 phrase per section by definition. Note also if you want to add DD automatically using chlipouni's DDC, it will create phrases for you if the number of phrases in the entire song is less than the number of sections. Otherwise DDC will respect your phrase defintions. Setting "phraselength" in the Toolkit in the DDC tab will create phrases every x measures where x is the value you chose to define phraselength with. If you don't want DDC messing with your carefully defined phrases, simply set phraselength to a number larger or equal to your largest (in terms of measures) phrase in the song.  Anyway, long story short: 5 minutes to do SHIFT+S to create sections and we'll all be in a way better position to learn your song. The rest of what I said about DD is just icing on the cake and favoured by only a fraction of the community. I'll admit I  do appreciate DD being available just to fool around with a new song before getting serious learning it. But RR will be more than enough!

Enjoy JazzieLiked it is an understatement. I never played this song before or saw tabs but from playing your CDLC it is wholly satisfying to me and sounds like the notes are all there, perfectly synched, tone sounds good and it of course kicked my ass at 100% speed since there is a high density of notes but at lower speeds I got that loving feeling :) I don't have much experience critiquing CDLC but in my opinion this is a really good CDLC! Well done friend! Your post says only 1 DD level but you should do your CDLC justice and advertise that it in fact has several levels. You've really made my day! Plus what a YouTube present, Bruce Dickenson doing Rue Morgue! AWESOME!!!

If I could steal a DeLaurian I would simply use it once every 10 years to go from 1989 back to 1980 over and over and over again, each time savouring the 80's with eyes 10 years older and grayer and grayer mullet. If you do inspire yourself with his work please do give him some credit in your post. I guess try not to feel too bad from  Alex360's comment. I think he meant it as constructive criticism for improvement.
