Yeah, my version is a bit of a mess. It was my first (and currently only) outing on lyrics, and I'm still learning how to do stuff. I wasn't sure if you were ever going to finish Blue or Pinkerton, so I figured I would try just in case. You're obviously much better at this then I am, so thanks for making a better Butterfly. I'm sure everyone (myself included) will have a better time with it. Hey man, don't worry about it. This stuff comes with time, I promise. Everybody has to start somewhere :) Is there a good guide for lyrics and DD, because the ones here didn't really help me too much? Well, when I started out (during the ancient times of smithyanvil), I was alone in the dark. I found UltraStar Creator through some random searching, never stopped using it, and apparently, other people use it as well. That tutorial explains it better than I could. As for DD, this tutorial might help. If you've already looked at those, you might be able to find some help in my guidelines. If you've already seen those and they haven't helped you, then I don't know. |

Now that you've got the songbook this album, any chance we can get an updated version? There's only a few small changes that are needed. I plan on doing revamps of some of my customs, yes. I'll probably get some work done this coming week, but no guarantees. |

Awsome song any chance of getting a bass added? Um... there's no bass part though. At least not that I can hear. The cello part wouldn't sound great on bass either, too much "thump." |

Thanks L33tr, this is one sweet song !! :P Can both the DD and Non-DD ones exist in the folder at the same time, or will there be a conflict ? Anyways..., Thanks much B) Well, I could possibly set up a new template and re-create the non-DD ones, but I find it a bit unnecessary due to the fact that the non-DD one is redundant at this point xD |

Guys, I've been told how to add the solo, but now every tab I'm finding has it charted incorrectly. Will add it in when I find the right one. I can send you the official songbook for Make Believe if you'd like, it has the solo tabbed out. The song is also in Eb Standard, not E Standard. Where on earth do you find all these tab books? I have a few of my own, but Make Believe is not among them. |

Nice job, this is one of my favourite Green Day songs :) Any chance you could reign the tone in a little? Overall it sounds pretty good, but the levels are a bit too high. There's a lot of feedback and squealing on top of the tone. You mentioned in the comments for Last Resort that you use a guitar with really low output, so it's probably related to that. Yeah, I plan on updating this custom again in the near future. And as for my guitar, I just tested my tones on multiple other guitars (I even re-calibrated for each one), and none seemed to have any squealing. Regardless, I'll take it down a bit. I can post (or send you via PM) a short playthrough video that better illustrates what I'm talking about if you'd like. When I play on my Jaguar (high-output DiMarzio Super Distortion and PAF humbuckers) the squealing and feedback is pretty loud. However, when I play with my Mustang (lower output single-coil pups) it's not as bad. Okay, that would help. I used seymour duncans on full volume, and that seemed to work fine for me. I even have those same Supers on another guitar! Must be my setup. |

Now this version is the the best...2.1v i mean...the only problem is that in the first section of the solo u charted TSRMTS version instead of the studio(though it aint a problem...) but for those who want to achieve the most exact sound of the studio version it should change...i dont know how to tell u which part im talking about.. its from 6.05 to 6.07 and 6.44 to 6.46 lick(in studio song version)...but anyway it aint something that bothers...and a very very special thanks to LEd out for his contribution over this I personally own the official tab books for Led Zeppelin I - IV, and his version of the solo follows almost exactly with the book. The only instances where it doesn't follow are vibrato and bends, which he improved on. |

Alright! I've evolved in a similar manner, I'm not very fond of my first customs, they certainly need to be redone. I like to pay attention to details too now, it's my goal to make my customs as accurate and polished as I can make them. I appreciate all your work with Led Zeppelin :D |

i mean the solo tone is fixed from the previous version..but still dont have the feeling of the original tone(the actual song)..the sustain especially ....about the unison bend section.. which in the previous version had a great tone...somhow changed to an acoustic clean sound..and as for your saying about the forum and comunity, i believe its right ...and thank you for endeavours... An updated v2.1 is now in the folder. It includes new solo and outro (unison bends) tones, reworked from scratch. They're much better now, and this'll probably the last time I'll update this song for a while. Thanks to your comment, I was able to easily identify the problem. I believe that what he was trying to say is that the unison bends 1) aren't synced quite correctly (as they appear off in spots) and 2) that the tone for that section is wrong (i.e. in the song one can clearly hear a distorted guitar, but in your custom, you simply used the acoustic tone). Fixed that in my version, just saying xD :) 1. The unison bends are/were synced correctly - the effects used during this section combined with the drums still following the original tempo can be a bit disorienting. 2. It was supposed to use the tone from the solo, but I'd mistakenly used the acoustic tone. It's fixed now, and I've built an entirely new tone. It's not really that distorted - Jimmy just used a sort of chorus/echo/reverb type effect. 3. Using this thread as an opportunity to advertise your version is a pretty off-color thing to do. We're talking about minor, easy fixes here. Not exactly re-inventing the wheel. 1. Yes, that was my point. I didn't notice if you changed it, but a while back I went into EOF and looked at the sync for your tabs, since I believe that you synced the beat to the drums. I'd recommend offsetting the unison bends to when they're actually played, even though you may need to go off by a 16th or two in EOF, so that you don't have to change the tempo map. Just a thought, since Jimmy Page didn't play in time to the drums there, obviously. 2. You would be correct in saying it wasn't very distorted. Instead of distortion boxes, a higher gain pre-amp setting was often used, along with slight reverb. Although, it would be wise to check beforehand to make sure tone changes are in their proper order; I've had some difficulty getting them to change correctly in some of my own customs before. 3. Never said I made any grand, spectacular changes. Just formalities that the official songs have (i.e. proper sustain "relief" distance between notes, scroll speed, lyric sustain, etc.) always included. I'll remove that sentence though, if you'd like me to. No mean to cause any hard feelings, just trying to make things as accurate as I can :) |

By all means, if the official songbook is, in your belief, entirely accurate, then I would love to take a look at it. I am not new to using song/tab books for my customs, so if I find that you are correct in stating that the official book is more accurate than what I have already created, I will be more likely to update my customs to meet your standards. |

Though I appreciate your suggestions, I'm going to have to not include them with my custom. You may use my custom and modify it to your own liking, but I will not be including those changes in my own. Reasoning for not changing the slide start location and end location: Refer to 1:17 in this video. You can clearly, without distortion, hear that Kurt plays the slides differently from the way you notated it. Reasoning for not changing the bend locations: Refer to any live performance of Negative Creep. Kurt does not have a "set" location or strength of the bend he plays. In fact, that's the beauty of the song: it's different every time he plays it. That said, the essence of using live performance video to request changes (or justify not including those changes) is unreliable (as I said, it's played differently every time). Due to this, I will not change what has already been posted. I do not mean any offense to you, I just find the changes requested unnecessary. |
