Ignition4 Report System FAQ
Here is a further explanation of the report system for what things should be reported, as well as the report process.
The new system helps us defend against malicious reports and provide better feedback to the creators.
Reports should be seen as feedback.
A report is not a personal attack, someone that is reporting your chart is usually doing so in good faith and is highlighting some oversights you may have missed.
They can also report something which functionally needs fixing; like lack of leading silence, sections/ phrases not being optimal etc. (the foundational aspects that make a chart.)
Or formally; like when sustains touch the following notes and don't have a gap, incorrect chord fingerings, not optimal fret hand positions. (the visual aspects that make a chart.)
They can also flag when a chart has some wrong, or missing information, such as a wrong artist/ song name etc.
The categories:
- Incorrect Tuning.
- Broken Link.
- Inaccurate/Out of Sync/Wrong Notes.
- Doesn't Start/Crashes Game.
- Breaks Rules.
Let's break down these five reasons:
Incorrect Tuning:
- The tuning listed on CustomsForge does not match the tuning in-game.
- Trying to tune to the listed tuning in-game will cause a string to break or is not attainable.
- The audio file is in a True Tuning (not A440) but the chart is set to be played in A440.
Broken Link:
- The download link is invalid.
- The file is restricted.
- The link leads to the wrong CDLC.
- The link leads to a folder full of different CDLC.
Inaccurate/Out of Sync/Wrong Notes:
- The tablature used to create the chart is not accurate.
- The tablature used does not sync up with the audio file.
Doesn't Start/Crashes Game:
- The chart does not proceed past the tuning screen.
- The chart causes the game to crash when playing the song.
Breaks Rules:
The chart has other problems not listed above which break the CustomsForge Guidelines.
https://customsforge.com/index.php?/guidelines/
- An upload of an ODLC song.
- Uses prohibited hosting sites, such as AdFly, 4Share.
- An upload of an artist that is on the CustomsForge Banned Artist list.
https://ignition4.customsforge.com/artists/banned - File naming format is incorrect; file names should look like this: Artist_Song_Version_p.psarc
- Is released after October 2016 and does not include Dynamic Difficulty.
Charts uploaded in 2025 can also be reported for not following the new 2025 Charting Standards

Arrangements:
- This box is to select the path(s) which contain the issue.
Reason Box:
This box is for the reporter to explain the report in as much detail as they can.
An ideal report should include information useful for the charter to amend the chart, and to be as objective as possible.
- If a tuning is wrong, try and state the tuning it should be in.
- Give examples of places within in the song where the issues appear.
- If a chart is wrong note wise, provide a tab or other sources that are more accurate.
Please remember all comments can be seen by the charter and staff. Abusing the reports and/or sending abusive messages will cause your account to be temporarily or permanently suspended.
If the reason box does not contain sufficient information, it can also result in the report being closed.
You should always see if you can fix the issues yourself if possible, or check if someone else has already made a hotfix and shared in the comments of the chart. Tools such as CustomsForge Song Manager, or the DLC Builder can fix certain smaller issues, like lack of DD, for your local copy of the chart.
What happens when a chart is reported?
When a chart is reported, the creator will get a discussion page created for the report which relays the report information where they can talk about the report with the Customsforge staff members, as well as the reporter.
If the same chart gets 2 or more reports, the chart on Ignition will be displayed with a report icon. The record will also get report box displaying the report that was submitted for everyone to see.
The charter will get a report notification when they visit the Ignition page reminding them about the reported chart, as well as an email notification.
What should the charter do?
The charter has 2 weeks from when the report is submitted to reply to the discussion to acknowledge the report.
It is in your best interest within that time to address the report and fix the reported issues.
The charter is able to request a 3 week time extension if they need longer than the 2 weeks to fix the chart. They can click the Request 3 week extension button at the top of the page, or ask within the discussion.
When a charter does make changes to the reported chart, they should update the CustomsForge entry for the chart with a new download link and updated version number, as well as say within the report discussion that the file has been amended so a staff member can close the report.
Ignoring, or refusal, to make any changes to the chart will result in the chart being set to abandoned, indicating that it is need of a fix.
If a chart is reuploaded containing the same issues as previously reported by the same charter, it will get removed from the database and the uploader will receive a warning.
Who takes care of reports?
There are a few Customsforge Staff members which handle reports. Emmy-Dell, Firekorn, Hikikomori and Ctrl are the main people.
They will try and provide further information and give an ideal way to fix the chart when you reply to the discussion.
They can also highlight any other potential issues which fail to follow the new 2025 Charting Standards, and ODLC standards that you should also address, such as; lack of leading silence, incorrect song volume levels, incorrect scroll speed etc.
