For the longest time there were no tabs, then no quality tabs, then a tab or two that were pretty good but I never got around to learning it/taking a crack at making a CDLC. I loved this song the first time I heard it, but feel like it's almost totally unknown compared to his later singles (the ones charted in RS2014 and then quite a few others). Entire album is fantastic though, a lot of talented people involved. "Born Reckless" is another stand-out for me, but it's definitely a "gotta tab it yourself" song. :P

Thanks for taking the extra care to get a "definitive" version of this track up here! I didn't know that about the lyrics, I wonder how many people do? I would love to make my own customs, a lot of the stuff I listen to is less popular or oddly just not here despite being fairly classic (there's a few, but Manfred Mann's cover of "Blinded By The Light" jumps to mind atm). It seems easy enough (of course you've still got to do it right). The few times I've tried, the BPM/note timing is all over the place for no reason at all when it was fine in the GP file. Not sure how to fix that. I would even like to make personal updates to CDLC I've downloaded here to use more sensible hand positioning instead of something that looks like they imported it directly from a MIDI with no changes lol. Maybe I'll try again one day. I also play with music volume at 50 so it should work just fine for me, I'll give it a shot later.

The Patti Smith one is fantastic though, blows Springsteen's studio version away for sure! The story of the song is kind of interesting. I guess Bruce had the music written and a rough vocal melody but couldn't get it figured out and wasn't really planning on finishing it. His producer mentioned he was also working with Patti Smith and that she could use a hit. So he gave her the song and she absolutely nailed it with the lyrics and it became her biggest hit. We might never have even heard it if she didn't take the song and make it her own, pretty cool. Thanks a lot for this one! Such a classic.

It would be a pretty simple chart, mostly strumming a few chords on guitar (bass mainly quarter root notes) although there's a short and sweet keyboard melody just after the 1:00 mark that would be fun to play. Maybe some octave work in the later choruses (also keyboard). Just think it's a beautiful song haha. Sometimes it's just fun to play along to an easy song, don't necessarily need a big challenge.

Sadly it seems as though a lot of the songs I like of theirs fall into the "more work needed" territory. Most notably Baby Don't Dance and Infinitesimal. The latter appears to have a guitar and bass tab on UG, but it's not Guitar Pro so you have to input it manually and figure out the timing which can be a real pain if you're not feeling overly motivated. I know because I've done it. :P Thanks again though, these are the songs I especially appreciate getting because there aren't thousands of tabs/customs out there for them already.

I admit that I haven't listened to them much in the past, but as has been the case with many a Guitar Hero/Rock Band/Rocksmith song, playing the songs in game got me to appreciate certain bands/songs a lot more.   Interesting note about there being mistakes in the recording. I've found in a few songs, notes or phrases that don't seem quite right. I have to stop playing along and really listen to the song, and sure enough, that's what's being played.. but it doesn't sound right to my ears. I guess it wasn't as easy to overdub mistakes or do multiple takes when it was tape versus digital recording, so you probably got a lot of "Screw it, it's good enough!" back in the day. Lots of people probably high out of their minds while recording back then too, haha.

Charts were well synced and accurate, no issues anywhere.   Gotta say that I really enjoy the tone too, it's one of my favourites in a long time and has found a place on one of my tone select presets haha. I tend to have issues with bass tones either sounding weak/muddy or not cutting through the mix. This one is clear and punchy and easily heard, love it.   Any plans on adding guitar to this one in particular? Might be a bit of a chore due to the amount of different tones used, and also if you're primarily a bassist and don't have a guitar handy. Either way, look forward to checking out new charts from you in the future if you decide to do more.

It's a pretty minor/easy thing to miss, especially when you're churning out as many customs as you usually do. Notes are well synced and tones sound great though, very fun song to play!

Used to listen to a lot of his stuff back in the day, but I didn't appreciate just how amazing the bass lines were until I got to play some of them (definitely notice the bass a lot more after learning it myself and gaining a new appreciation for it).   Plan on doing any more Rundgren in the future? Lots of good tracks left to choose from. I Saw The Light would be pretty amazing. His stuff in Utopia in the 80's is great too. The Beatles inspired "Deface The Music" album has some good ones. That's Not Right, I Just Want To Touch You, etc. Lysistrata, Neck On Up, lots of fun songs if I had an ear for figuring stuff out myself haha.   Thanks again!
