How the Wishlist works
The Wishlist is where members ask for songs that have no CDLC yet. Other members upvote the ones they want too, creators pick them up, and the item is completed once a CDLC for it is on Ignition.
Adding a wishlist item
Use Add to the wishlist. You need the title, the artist, the album and a YouTube link to the song. A preferred arrangement (Lead, Rhythm or Bass), a Spotify link, a tab link, the genre and notes are optional. The arrangement is a preference only: creators still chart the full CDLC.
- One wishlist item per song. Search the Wishlist first.
- You can have 10 unfinished items at a time. Every item that is not completed counts, including Workshop projects. Complete or delete one to add another.
- The form refuses songs that were released as official DLC, artists that are banned from Ignition, and songs that already have an unfinished wishlist item for the same arrangement.
- If a CDLC of the song is already on Ignition but lacks the arrangement you want, pick that arrangement on the form.
- When an item looks like one already on the Wishlist, the form shows the similar items first. You can still add yours.
You can edit your item at any time. You can delete it until a creator claims it.
Showing interest
Open an item and press Upvote to show you want it too. Press it again to take your vote back. Only open items take votes, and you can't upvote your own. Everyone who upvoted is told when the item is completed.
Watch an item to hear about it without voting: you are told when a creator claims it or stops, when someone comments, and when it is completed.
The Wishlist table sorts by upvotes, most first, so the items with the most votes are the ones creators see first. It hides items that are in progress, CDLC found or completed until you turn them on in the filters.
Statuses
- Open: waiting for a creator. This is the only status that takes votes and tab or video suggestions.
- In progress: a member pressed Interested in charting and claimed it. The item shows who is charting it. The creator, the owner or staff can cancel the claim, which makes it Open again.
- CDLC found: once a day Ignition checks open and claimed items against the catalog. When a CDLC by the same artist with the same title is on Ignition (and has the arrangement, if one was asked for), the item becomes CDLC found and the owner is told.
- Completed: the item is linked to a CDLC. Comments close at this point.
CDLC found: what the owner does
The item page lists the CDLC that may fulfill it.
- Complete with this CDLC links it and completes the item.
- Not a match rules a CDLC out, for example a different song with the same name. When no match is left, the item goes back to Open.
If the owner does nothing, the item completes itself with the newest matching CDLC about a week later.
How an item gets completed
- A new CDLC is uploaded with the same artist and title: matching items that are not completed are completed straight away, even when someone else had claimed them.
- The owner or staff complete it with a CDLC listed on the item page.
- The creator who claimed it links their CDLC from the item page.
- A Workshop project raised for the item is released as a CDLC.
When an item is completed, the owner, everyone who upvoted, everyone watching and the CDLC's creator get one notification each, with a button to add the CDLC to their collection. Email for these is on by default and can be turned off in your notification settings.
Your completed items are listed on Completed. If the wrong CDLC was linked, the owner can unlink it and the item is Open again.
Tabs and videos
While an item is open, other members can suggest a tab or a video for it. The owner approves or rejects each suggestion.
